JOB PURPOSE:

The Cloud Data Engineer is responsible for optimizing data management, enhancing business processes, and delivering data and application solutions across the organization by leveraging cloud data services, including Microsoft Azure, AWS (Amazon Web Services), Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and other relevant platforms. This role involves analyzing existing data workflows, identifying areas for improvement, and leading the design and implementation of advanced data solutions. Additionally, the Cloud Data Engineer is tasked with developing custom business applications using tools like Power Apps, AWS Lambda, and Google Cloud Functions that integrate with ERP systems.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

Designs, develops, and implements cloud data solutions, including data pipelines, data lakes, and data warehouses, using platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud.
Develops and maintains custom business applications using Power Apps, AWS Lambda, Google Cloud Functions, and similar tools to streamline operations and improve business processes.
Ensures seamless integration of data solutions and custom applications with ERP systems across various cloud platforms.
Analyzes existing data workflows and processes to identify areas for improvement.
Collaborates with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions using the most suitable cloud technologies.
Maintains data security and compliance standards across different cloud environments.
Provides technical support and troubleshooting for cloud data services and custom applications.
Offers technical assistance and expertise to resolve issues related to cloud platforms promptly, minimizing operational disruptions.
Conducts training sessions and workshops to empower employees to effectively use cloud platform tools.
Maintains accurate and detailed records of support activities, documenting issue descriptions, applied solutions, and communications with end users in a ticketing system.
Maintains documentation of cloud data solutions and custom application implementations.
Collaborates with the IT team to integrate cloud-based solutions with existing systems and infrastructure.
Stays current with the latest cloud platform features, updates, and best practices across Azure, AWS, GCP, and other relevant platforms.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Experience: 3-5 years of experience in designing, developing, and implementing cloud data solutions, including data pipelines, data lakes, and data warehouses.

SKILLS BASED REQUIREMENTS:

Demonstrated experience in designing, developing, and implementing cloud data solutions, including data pipelines, data lakes, and data warehouses on platforms such as Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud.
Strong understanding of cloud data services, including Azure Synapse Analytics, AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery, and SQL databases, in addition to on-premise SQL Server.
Experience with custom application development and integration with cloud data solutions using tools like Power Apps, AWS Lambda, and Google Cloud Functions.
Solid understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and data integration across various cloud environments.
Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong commitment to delivering high-quality customer service.
Familiarity with ticketing systems and remote support tools such as Atlassian/JIRA and TeamViewer.
Certifications in cloud platforms (e.g., Azure Data Engineer Associate, AWS Certified Data Analytics, Google Professional Data Engineer) are preferred.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across diverse skill sets and technical aptitudes.
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

To perform the duties of this job, the employee is required to use the computer for extended periods of time in a sitting or standing position. Ability to work under time constraints and ability to work in a face paced work environment. When visiting a plant, the employee will need to be able to be on their feet for an extended period. Bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and moving products, minimum of 25 lbs. Exposure to varying types of climates. Outside environment can be dusty & noisy. Equipment & treated products may emit fumes and odor. Moderate travel required.
