Role Description

Illest Environmental is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Environmental Engineer with 1-3 years of experience to join our team. This is a full-time position based in the Washington DC-Baltimore Area. In this role, you will work alongside experienced engineers and environmental professionals on a variety of projects (including daily with the company's co-founders), gaining hands-on experience in environmental compliance, noise and vibration monitoring, site assessments, and more.

Responsibilities

Support the development of environmental compliance plans and reports.
Contribute to permitting processes and ensure adherence to environmental regulations.
Perform noise and vibration monitoring and analysis in support of public infrastructure projects.
Assist in conducting environmental impact assessments and site evaluations.
Assist with hazardous waste management, water treatment, and site remediation tasks.
Collaborate with project teams to ensure client expectations are met with high-quality deliverables.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
Familiarity with environmental regulations, compliance, and permitting processes (coursework or internships preferred).
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
Enthusiasm for learning and a commitment to environmental stewardship.
Internship experience in environmental engineering or related fields is a plus but not required.
Completion of coursework in a Fundamentals of Acoustics (or similar course that introduces the physical principles) with a B or better is a plus but not required.
