Seafarers Harry Lundeberg School of Seamanship is a large maritime training organization, in Piney Point, MD. We are looking for Licensed Engineers to become part of our team!
Summary of Position
The Licensed Engineer is responsible for the day to day maintenance of our school ship, the Freedom Star. This position also requires taking the ship out once per month for 4 days at a time; we crew the ship for our unlicensed apprentices to go out on. As a member of the engine dept at a maritime school, you will be working with a very diverse group of students; with various education levels, job titles, ages, and ethnicities.
Qualifications
- Valid MMC with appropriate Chief Engineer license; at least a Motor Limited 4,000 HP (or any Licensed Engineer)
- TWIC
- Proficiency in public speaking
- Equivalent Military time can be evaluated
