Overview
We are seeking a Senior Single Buoy Mooring (SBM) Terminal Representative to join our Terminal Pilotage Operation Division.
The Terminal Pilotage Operation Division (TPOD) is responsible for providing professional pilotage operations, vessel traffic management and tankship technical support at all Saudi Aramco Oil Ports and Terminals for the purpose of expediting the export and import of crude oil and hydrocarbon-based products in a safe, efficient, cost effective and environmentally sound manner. Saudi Aramco operates ten (10) terminals, one of which is Juaymah Single Buoy Mooring (SBM) Crude Oil Terminal which has six (6) SBMs that are located 15 miles offshore.
The candidate primary role is to assist the Harbor Pilot in the performance of mooring/unmooring to the buoy. Conducts pre-berthing and other tankship safety inspections with the Harbor Pilot and as directed. In coordination with the Harbor Pilot, coordinates mooring boats in berthing and cargo hose connecting/disconnecting operations. During work periods, incumbent will follow Harbor Pilot instructions to monitor ship operations including cargo and ballast handling. Empowered to stop any at risk or unsafe operation or procedure during the ships visit to Saudi Aramco facility.
Key responsibilities
As the successful candidate you will be required to perform the following:
• Act as a terminal representative onboard tanker loading at Juaymah SBM.
• The candidate will assist the Harbor Pilot in the mooring/unmooring to SBM, supervise hose connection and disconnection, and monitor the loading operations.
• He will also act as Saudi Aramco cargo inspector in case of ship/shore cargo difference.
• Due to the nature of the job and the work location, the successful candidate will be on a callout schedule and will stay on board or the tanker from arrival till completion of loading and sailing out. After disembarks, the candidate will be ashore until the next job assignment.
• Maintain continuous monitoring of shipboard operations throughout ship stay at SBM in collaboration with the Harbor Pilot.
• Liaise between offshore operation personnel and ship Master/Officer during cargo loading operations.
• Coordinate ship-shore activities during initial startup, line displacement, topping off and completion of loading.
• Carry out a thorough pre-berthing inspection which includes mooring operation machineries and ship's crane.
• Conduct regular inspections for SBM mooring hawsers, pick up ropes, cargo hoses and hose lifting ancillaries',
• Performing safety inspections to ensure the ship remains in full compliance with the port rules and regulations throughout her stay at the terminal.
• Participate with operations and maintenance personnel in the weekly SBM inspections.
• Follow up with Maintenance Foreman the status of reported SBM deficiencies.
• Participate in the acceptance of newly assigned SBM mooring boats.
• Act as mentor/evaluator of young candidates, monitor their training progress and task-book completion.
• Posse good knowledge in ISPS code.
• Assist in the investigation and the documentation of deficiencies which occur either onboard ships or to SBM ancillaries.
• During emergency situations, adverse weather or cargo handling abnormalities, acts to handle and control the situation in collaboration with Aramco Harbor Pilot onboard the ship.
Minimum Requirements
- The candidate must have a High National Diploma Marine Studies with Minimum of 7 years of seagoing experience; preferably onboard oil tankers or Bachelor of Science Marine Studies with minimum of 5 years of seagoing experience; preferably onboard oil tankers.
- Certified Ships Officer issued under IMO STCW competency regulations.
