Position Summary
Paul J. Angelides, P.E., P.C., (PJA) is looking to add an entry-level Assistant Engineer to their expanding team. This is a full-time entry-level position with the potential for advancement due to a growing demand for the firm's established forensic engineering expertise that provides a comprehensive array of technical services to the insurance and legal communities on a consulting basis. The Assistant Engineer will accompany the senior engineers on inspections, assist with case evaluations, perform research, review legal documents, and assist with report preparation. In addition, the Assistant Engineer may be asked to participate in formal engineering designs and collaboration with architects, contractors, and clients under the supervision of licensed Professional Engineers. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic along with writing, communication, and time management skills, and a willingness to learn.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the investigation of property casualty and premises liability matters involving the cause, origin, and remedies for safety, structural, building envelope, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing failures, damages or defects affecting all types of residential, commercial, and industrial buildings, along with public spaces.
- Assist with the preparation of clear, thorough, and concise reports, drawings, analyses, and letters to clients outlining the cause and origin of damages or defects.
- Assist with the preparation of a scope of corrective work, to include engineering drawings when necessary.
- Follow ethical standards and established policies, procedures, and processes in preparing information, and exercising sound judgment.
- Submit reports, documents, and work tasks in a timely and professional manner.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university.
- Above average proficiency in writing and communication skills.
- Above average proficiency in observation skills.
- Experience with computer drafting / AutoCAD.
- Strong work ethic and personal accountability.
- Attention to detail.
- Time management skills.
- Interpersonal skills.
- Intern Engineer (I.E.) a plus.
- Hands-on technical experience or interests a plus.

Pay: $64,963.00 - $85,684.00 per year
