Instrument Support Engineer Role Purpose: Reporting to the Activity Integration Lead, the Instrument Support Engineer is a critical role within the onshore O&M team delivering on safe and reliable operation of equipment whilst ensuring regulatory compliance is maintained. The position is embedded within a multi-disciplined operations support team with an instrument engineering and maintenance bias supporting Duty Holder decommissioning operations. Key Responsibilities 1. Ensure instrument related equipment is safely managed and maintained effectively and that any engineering & maintenance activities are delivered in accordance with Statutory Regulations, Health, Safety & Environmental practices. 2. Prioritise repairs and inspections as required. Record the integrity status of the instrument equipment and provide preliminary assessment of any associated risk 3. Review maintenance deferrals for planned and corrective maintenance work 4. Management of 3rd party offshore vendor maintenance 5. Responsible for company Instrument Assurance and Verification requirements 6. Review and input into Operational Risk Assessments 7. Responsible for development and management of the asset instrument budget. 8. Input into Management of Change process and that changes to the design and maintenance of instrument equipment are appropriately documented. Occasionally manage minor modifications 9. Provide technical support to the offshore maintenance and project teams where required 10. Carry out engineering studies, and root cause investigations where required in support of delivering to an agenda of continuous improvement 11. Liaise with manufacturers on aspects of equipment trouble shooting and problem solving 12. Support the development and implementation of decommissioning plans for equipment rundown maintenance strategies to ensure safe and reliable EDC operations 13. Support the implementation of obsolescence related maintenance aligned with decommissioning project milestones 14. Support critical equipment reliability and availability reviews 15. Provide reviews into critical and operational spares ensuring critical spares are always available aligned with project milestones 16. Review decommissioning work packs, decommissioning work programmes and technical proposals provided by 3rd parties in support of work execution 17. Support the decommissioning programmes and the implementation of safe instrument procedures and practices 18. Other duties as assigned which may be reasonably expected within the scope of the role Competence Requirements Knowledge & Qualifications 1. Instrument engineering Bachelor's degree preferred or proven relevant offshore experience. 2. Ideally candidates should hold chartership accreditation with a recognised UK professional body and be recognised as a Chartered Engineer through the Engineering Council UK 3. Valid OGUK Medical, MIST and BOSIET is preferred Skills & Experience 1. Proven experience of working in a Instrument support role within the Energy Industry, is essential 2.
