Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Data Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines and architectures that support our data-driven decision-making processes. You will work closely with data scientists and analysts to ensure the availability and quality of data for analysis. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in big data technologies and cloud platforms.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement robust data pipelines to ingest, process, and store large volumes of data from various sources.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and develop solutions that meet business needs.
- Build and maintain data warehouses to support reporting and analytics initiatives.
- Optimize existing data processes for performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Utilize tools such as Java, Spark, Azure Data Lake, and AWS to manage and manipulate large datasets.
- Conduct model training activities to enhance machine learning algorithms using available datasets.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues related to data processing or storage.
- Ensure compliance with data governance policies and best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role with a strong understanding of big data technologies.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java; familiarity with Spark is highly desirable.
- Experience working with cloud platforms like Azure Data Lake or AWS for data storage and processing.
- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and experience implementing solutions in this area.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to vaticinate potential issues before they arise.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while also being self-motivated.
