The opportunity:
Quality Systems Engineers are exposed to multiple facets of dredging projects with responsibilities for safety, quality control, quality assurance, documentation, and supporting the project team with a wide range of project related issues.
Schedule:
100% Nationwide Travel, 17/11 Rotation; 17 days working, 11 days off; travel paid by client
Responsibilities and functions include:
- Ensuring a safe work environment for all operations and tasks
- Advancing safe work initiatives to attain our IIF goals through implementation and support of safety actions goals established by the Site - - - Engineering Safety Action Plan and other standards for operations. (I.e. Orientations, Activity Hazard Analysis, Job Safety Analysis, Near Miss Meetings, preparatory and Initial phase meetings, etc.)
- Performing the duties of a CQC Manager as defined by the client specifications.
- Developing the project Quality Control Plan and Environmental Control Plan.
- Developing other plans as required by the contract. (i.e. Heavy lift plans, towing plans, pipeline crossings, etc.)
- Ensuring all project activities to be consistent with client best practices and contract specifications.
- Ensuring the quality of submittals to the client. (RMS 3.0)
- Ensuring compliance with all contract plans, specifications and the execution of the project Quality Control Plan and the Environmental - - - -- Protection Plan in support of Project Management.
- Properly documenting any non-compliance issues in a timely manner and informing Project Management.
- Documenting any issues that might require clarification or issues that may lead to a claim against the client.
- Preparing, attending, and taking minute minutes for all client meetings.
- Conducting regular site visits to ensure equipment, supplies, and work products continue to meet client specifications. Enumerating any non-conformities and apprising project management.
Education/Experience required:
- Bachelors degree from an accredited engineering program; Degrees in Civil Engineering, Ocean Engineering or Construction Management are preferred
- 3-5+ years experience within the marine construction, excavation, earthworks or water resources fields (Marine Construction or dredging experience)
- Some of the ex-military members can be accepted, however they will need to have Army or FAFAC construction experience in the categories mentioned above.
- Working knowledge of MS Office, AutoCAD, and the USACE Resident Management System (RMS)
Other requirements:
- Excellent communication skills (Written and verbal)
- Proficient computer skills. (RMS 3.0, Primavera P6, Excel, Word, Adobe, AutoCAD)
- Ability to travel.
- May occasionally lift and carry miscellaneous equipment, supplies, and parts generally weighing 25 to 50 lbs.
