About the Role:
We are seeking a Grid Connection Manager to oversee the development, permitting, and execution of grid connections for large-scale solar projects. You will be responsible for managing the entire grid connection process, liaising with network operators, and ensuring compliance with regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the grid connection process for solar projects from feasibility to operation.
- Liaise with Transmission System Operators (TSOs), Distribution Network Operators (DNOs), and regulatory bodies to secure grid connection agreements.
- Conduct feasibility studies and assess grid capacity for new project sites.
- Manage grid connection applications, ensuring all technical and regulatory requirements are met.
- Negotiate connection terms and grid agreements to optimize project viability.
- Oversee technical aspects of grid infrastructure, including substations, transformers, and cabling.
- Work closely with project development, engineering, and construction teams to ensure seamless grid integration.
- Stay updated on grid connection policies, regulatory changes, and industry best practices.
Key Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum 5 years in grid connection management within the renewable energy sector, preferably in solar PV.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of power systems, grid compliance, and connection processes for large-scale renewable projects.
- Regulatory Expertise: Familiarity with grid codes, connection agreements, and energy market regulations.
- Stakeholder Management: Experience working with network operators, regulators, and EPC contractors.
- Project Management: Ability to manage multiple grid connection projects simultaneously.
- Education: Degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field is preferred.
Desirable Skills:
- Knowledge of energy storage and hybrid solar projects.
- Experience with power purchase agreements (PPAs) and grid flexibility solutions.
- Proficiency in grid modeling and simulation software.
