Description:
We are seeking a talented Senior Software Engineer with a strong background in data engineering to join our team in Dayton, Ohio. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise in backend development, data systems, and database management, coupled with an active Top Secret (TS) clearance (or ability to obtain a TS clearance). Note that this position includes both in-office and remote support.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems and APIs.
- Build, optimize, and manage data pipelines, ETL processes, and database systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop secure and efficient software solutions.
- Support data modeling, schema design, and query performance tuning for relational and non-relational databases.
- Implement best practices in secure coding, data handling, and compliance with government standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in software and database systems.
- Document technical designs, processes, and system configurations.
- Design and implement scalable, secure, and efficient cloud-based architectures.
Required Qualifications:
- Active Top Secret (TS) clearance (or ability to obtain a TS clearance)
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in backend software development and/or data engineering.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, C#, or similar.
- Experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, DynamoDB).
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in a relevant field.
- Experience working on government contracts or in classified environments.
- Certifications in cloud or database technologies (e.g., AWS Certified Database, Microsoft Certified Azure Data Engineer).
- Understanding of data governance, metadata management, and security protocols.
- Experience with graph databases, ontologies, and data modeling.

Pay: $130,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
