Data Architect/Engineer
Digital Enterprise Solutions, Inc. (DESI) is seeking a Data Architect/Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This is a Full-time (Regular) Exempt (Salary) position located in Patuxent River, MD 20670. Telework will be allowed, however, the ideal candidate will be able to work onsite at Patuxent River, MD 20670 one day per week and must reside within ~90 miles of Patuxent River, MD.

ROLES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide Data Definition Language (DDL) support to developers and functionals.
- Provide advice in DDL processes and procedures.
- Develop and maintain SQL scripts for creation, population, truncation, migration, or manipulation of data tables, views, and materialized views within schemas.
- Troubleshoot data warehouse errors and technical issues.
- Perform data collection, data analysis, testing, and troubleshooting on large quantities of data.
- Analyze data from source systems; designing and developing extraction programs/scripts; loading source data into target systems or data warehouse within various environments.
- Assist Configuration Management team with data, information, files, and document management.
- Apply roles to database tables, create database accounts.
- Develop data architectures.
- Develop Informatica Mappings.
- Create Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) to connect data sources.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
To be considered for this position, you must meet the education and experience listed below:
- High School diploma or GED is required.
- BS/BA degree and 3 years related experience -OR- AA/AS degree and 7 years related experience -OR- HS Diploma and 9 years related experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or other similar disciplines preferred.
- Degree's must be from a US Department of Education accredited institution.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:
Experience with data engineering methods/practice.
Proficiency with MS Excel, SQL, and Visual Basic.
Data analysis experience.
Experience with AWS cloud native services/technologies for data architecture and engineering.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- US Citizenship is required due to US government contract requirements.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance. Interim SECRET required to start work.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates with experience or knowledge in these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:
- Experience with data /database migration from on-prem to cloud (AWS).
- Experience with Business Objects, Informatica, TOAD for Oracle, and JavaScript.
- Proficiency with Visual Basic/VBA.
- Experience with JSON and API's.
- CompTIA Security+ Certification.
- Active SECRET clearance.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
The compensation range is based on industry compensation data and/or position budget and reflects our commitment to transparency and fairness:
- The annual compensation range is $85,000 to $115,000, commensurate with education, certifications, and experience.
- Other compensation may include discretionary bonuses, referral rewards, and spot awards.
