Responsibilities & Qualifications of the
CNC Machinist Iinclude, but are not limited to:
- 2+ years of CNC experience
- Adhere to all engineering instruction, standard operation procedures, and all departmental procedures.
- Perform machine set ups on manual lathes, CNC lathes, CNC mills, and scale for all programs and part types including
production and/or engineering parts. - Performs typical machine shop operations to support the assembly floor.
- Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
- Performs preventative maintenance on machines as required per the P.M. charts.
- Visual inspection of machine for damage or wear.
- Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and drawings for all processes and programs.
- Train all incoming Operators and Set Up Technicians.
- Thorough knowledge of the following elements are expected:
- All gauging require including CMM
- Verifying gage calibration
- Machine fixturing for all set ups
- All tooling, its name and function
- Familiarity with CNC programming/languages and knowledge of how to create and edit programs
- Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerances
- Machine Safety
- Machine lubrication (follow operation manual specifications)
