Job Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Production Director to lead our Personalization Department. As the Production Manager, you will oversee all aspects of personalized product production, ensuring that every item meets our high standards of quality, accuracy, and timeliness. You'll manage a team of production staff and work closely with designers, customer service, and logistics teams to ensure smooth workflow, process improvements, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Oversight: Manage day-to-day operations of the personalization department, including scheduling, resource allocation, and quality control of customized products.Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor a team of production staff, ensuring optimal performance, adherence to timelines, and high-quality output.Process Optimization: Continuously analyze and improve personalization processes to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.Order Management: Coordinate with the customer service team to manage orders, ensuring that personalized products are produced accurately and delivered on time.Quality Control: Implement and maintain rigorous quality control procedures to ensure all personalized items meet company standards and customer expectations.Inventory & Equipment Management: Oversee the procurement, maintenance, and operation of personalization equipment such as embroidery machines, laser engravers, or printers. Ensure inventory levels are maintained and replenished as needed.Collaboration: Work closely with design, marketing, and logistics teams to align production capabilities with product designs, promotional campaigns, and shipping schedules.Scheduling & Capacity Planning: Develop and implement production schedules that meet demand, considering available resources and equipment capabilities.Training & Development: Train and develop staff on personalization techniques, machinery operation, and safety procedures. Ensure continuous development to keep up with industry trends and technologies.Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure all personalization operations comply with relevant safety and environmental regulations.Data Analysis & Reporting: Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production, order fulfillment, and quality. Provide regular reports to senior management.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in production management, Operations, or a related field, or equivalent experience.Proven experience in production management, preferably in a personalization or custom product environment.Strong leadership and team management skills, with a focus on motivating and developing production staff.Familiarity with personalization processes such as embroidery, engraving, printing, and other custom techniques.Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.Experience with production software and tools (e.g., ERP systems, inventory management).Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Preferred:
Experience working in personalization for retail, e-commerce, or promotional products.Technical knowledge of personalization equipment such as laser engravers, embroidery machines, and printers.Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma certification is a plus.
