A leading manufacturer of Seating, HVAC Systems, and Window Glass products to the Bus, Van, and RV Industries. Our production facilities are located in Elkhart, Indiana.
We are looking for a talented, self-starter with a high energy level who will work directly with the sales, production and engineering teams. Fast paced engineering environment with multiple projects managed at any given time. Candidate should possess 2-5 yrs. experience in Solid Works. Skills in the area of RV or seat manufacturing are a plus.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Works closely with designers, sales engineers, and team leaders to complete, in a timely manner, necessary working drawings for production units.
- Receives design information from team leaders, creates and maintains prints and charts to develop the complete package of engineering documentation for existing products and new offerings.
- Assumes responsibility for assigned design work, which includes designing components, developing various support structures, and integrating components into a comprehensive design.
- Regularly performs complex, individual CAD-related design activities.
- Works from Engineering Change Notices (ECN's), Product Change Requests (PCR's), line audits, and user feedback to continually maintain the accuracy of the prints & charts.
- Visits production line to establish and maintain a good relationship with production personnel as well as evaluating this Engineering Team's work.
- Strives continuously for product improvement, cost reductions, and improved quality and manufacturability.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Solid Works experience.
- Motion Studies and Physics Simulation in CAD
- Experience in RV or other manufacturing design preferred, but not required.
- Background in furniture design preferred.
- Must have strong verbal and written communication skills, strong analytical and quantitative skills.
- Must be able to function effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced, positive, stable work environment.
- Strong computer skills – power users of excel only.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Education and Experience:
- Requires 2 to 5 years related experience and knowledge equivalent to high.
- Preference is given to those with additional broad specialized training equal to 2 years of college.
