Responsibilities/Job Description:
The Data Engineer participates in the planning, design, and deployment of enterprise data strategies by analyzing and translating business needs into a long-term solution data model that reduces duplications, streamlines data movements, and improves enterprise information management.

Design, development, testing, administration, and maintenance of Master Data Management (MDM) platforms and processes, in partnership with Data Governance.

Support the day-to-day operations for the data environment by supervising and monitoring data pipelines and fix any errors or performance issues that may occur in order to ensure complete and timely availability of data.

Assists with the management of access to data in the environment to ensure the security of the data, and compliance with HIPAA guidelines.

Define and implement data strategies, policies, controls to ensure accurate, complete, secure, trusted, reliable enterprise data, including platform solutions and models to store and retrieve data based on architecture design.

Apply leadership skills with IT, business owners, and end users to define and document business, technical, and operational requirements.

Champion initiatives to help the organization understand and improve data consistency, quality, and flows following internal and external regulations.

Brings together, cleanses, and transforms data to provide insight and actionable recommendations to improve new and existing database systems and pipelines.

Build analytics tools that apply the data pipeline to deliver actionable insights into customer acquisition, operational efficiency, and other key business performance metrics.

Introduce and advocate for industry standard methodologies of modern data warehouse such as customer-centric, adaptable, automated, elastic, governed, secure, etc

Prepare accurate database design and structure documentation for management and executive teams.

Builds and leads initiatives to produce written narrative summaries that outline project purpose, methodology, summary of findings, trends of interest, and opportunities.

Educate team members on standards and best processes through training and individual support.

Overview:
The Data Engineer position is heavily involved with analyzing data, understanding, and working with researchers within a healthcare organization. This position has a huge emphasis on our Epic software system. This role focuses on the implementation, maintenance, and architecture of the MHealth Fairview data environment. The role demonstrates all appropriate data tool(s) to acquire, restructure, and store enterprise data in a data warehouse and a growing number of data marts.
This position is a full-time, 80hr per pay period, benefit eligible position!
