R&D Tax Savers (RDTS) is a leading engineering & tax firm with a focus on helping clients take advantage of tax incentives for research and development (R&D Tax Credit) and energy efficient building projects(179D Tax Deduction).
Our firm is based on Long Island (Syosset) with a national client base. In addition to R&D related incentives, we perform cost-segregation studies, energy tax studies (EPAct 179D), and other tax & law-related matters where engineering and tax intersect.
R&D Tax Savers is currently interviewing for an Entry Level Engineering position that requires strong writing skills. This position has room for growth into a project management role. Applicants should have a bachelor's degree, preferably engineering, or with a quantitative and/or technical background (ie: mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, civil engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, or other STEM) and exemplary writing skills.
This position will include a wide range of activities including: industry research on today's emerging technologies, project analysis and execution, technical writing, and AutoCAD building system takeoffs. Our team members also have the opportunity to frequently publish articles in publications that include: Retrofit Magazine, FacilitiesNet Magazine, Fabaloo, and the Deltek Blog. Additionally, members of our team frequently present on tax incentives at regional and national conferences.
Overnight travel estimated around 5% of the time .

Duties/Responsibilities :
- Work on client engagements related to our R&D tax credit studies and energy tax deduction studies which includes: client interface, data collection and analysis, and technical report writing.
- Assist with marketing and business development activities
- Research various topics for client related work and article publication
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree - Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or other STEM (which will help in grasping our clients' industries which include manufacturing, architecture, engineering, software, food science, biotechnology and beyond).
- Detail oriented, ability to multitask, and work well in a fast-paced, team oriented environment
- Exemplary writing and analytical skills
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint
