Senior Data Engineer

Purpose
The Senior Data Engineer assists the MedEdge Technologies Team in developing file exports by extracting data from various sources and transforming it into a format that can be easily used by stakeholders The ideal candidate must possess strong analytical skills, expert SQL skills, and excellent communication skills. A solid understanding of specialty/home infusion pharmacy data and their associated dispense systems is highly desirable as well.
What Will Your Day-to-Day Look Like?
- Design, develop, and maintain SQL queries, stored procedures, and other tools to extract data from multiple sources, including pharmacy systems, electronic health records, and claims data to create exports that meet the needs of pharmacy manufacturers and internal business teams.
- Create SSIS packages to generate and transmit files to the pharmaceutical manufacturers
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including finance, pharmacy operations, business development, and IT, to understand their reporting needs and develop solutions.
- Work with cross-functional teams and Clients to identify and solve data-related issues
- Create and maintain documentation related to data sources and file exports
- Provide analytical support to various teams within the organization, including finance, marketing, and business development

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field
- Absolutely must have strong SQL skills (5+ years) and experience working with large data sets
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in data analysis, with a focus on healthcare (preferably specialty/home infusion pharmacy)
- 3+ years of experience creating SSIS packages
- Experience developing file exports for pharmaceutical manufacturers a major plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain data accuracy and integrity
How Do You Set Yourself Apart?
- Experience working with data visualization tools such as Crystal Reports, DevExpress, Tableau or Power BI
- Knowledge of healthcare data standards such as HIPAA and HITECH
- Strong knowledge of data structures related to the pharmacy industry as it relates to Specialty Pharmacy and Home Infusion
