Overview:
We are looking for a talented and detail-oriented Geospatial Data Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will design, build, and maintain geospatial data pipelines and systems, enabling seamless analysis and visualization of spatial data. You will support a multidisciplinary team of technical specialists, such as biologists and archaeologists, by integrating in-field data collection, desktop data review, and overall job management using ArcGIS, SmartSheet, PowerBI, and other tools.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in geospatial technologies, data engineering, and a passion for solving spatial and networked challenges with innovative solutions.
**Possibility to work from anywhere in California, Oregon, Washington, or Nevada.
Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and maintain geospatial data pipelines and integrate them with job tracking and management software.

Design and optimize geospatial databases and data storage solutions.

Integrate spatial data from various sources, including satellite imagery, LiDAR, and GPS.

Collaborate with technical specialists to collect, manage, and visualize geospatial constraint data using ArcGIS Online and Survey123.

Integrate geospatial data into an overall job management, tracking, and reporting system such as SmartSheet.

Perform spatial analysis and processing using GIS tools and programming libraries.

Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and scalability of geospatial datasets.

Implement geospatial APIs and services for data sharing and application integration.

Stay updated on the latest advancements in geospatial technology and tools.
Qualifications:
Qualifications
Required:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geography, Geospatial Science, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.

Strong experience with geospatial technologies.

Proficiency in programming languages like Python, R, or JavaScript, with experience in geospatial libraries (e.g., GeoPandas, Shapely, Pyproj).

Experience with database systems (e.g., PostgreSQL/PostGIS, Oracle Spatial, MongoDB).

Familiarity with cloud platforms and tools (e.g., SmartSheet, AWS, Google Earth Engine, Azure).

Knowledge of spatial data formats and standards (e.g., GeoJSON, KML, WMS, WFS).

Understanding of map projections, coordinate systems, and spatial indexing.
Preferred:
-
Experience with big data tools (e.g., Spark, Hadoop) and processing large geospatial datasets.

5 years of geospatial experience

Familiarity with machine learning techniques and frameworks for spatial data.

Certification in GIS or cloud technologies is a plus.

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.
Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company’s annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
