Responsibilities / Tasks
Job Summary:
Under general supervision, performs lab analysis of test materials and reports data to the test center supervisor and test engineers and senior biotechnologist. Performs routine maintenance of lab equipment, runs small pilot equipment, assists in managing test material tracking system. This position requires advanced knowledge and abilities in aseptic technique for handling microbial and animal cell cultures.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Perform routine analysis for tests including some calculations
- Maintain records of test results for future reference
- Clean lab and its equipment to maintain good operating order
- Assist in preparing shipping requests, record shipments, document inventory of lab consumables and safety equipment, including ordering/managing consumables
- Comply with internal and external QHSE requirements (Including: Training, Waste disposal, recordkeeping, managing safety data sheets database and understanding safety data sheets before working with hazardous material, etc.)
- Conduct laboratory experiments and activities (Maintaining stock solutions, cell transfers, etc.)
- Run small scale lab process units, disassembling and re-assembling equipment as needed
- Experimental planning, including reconfiguration of equipment and Tech Transfer from customers, to conduct tests/experiments.
- Create and modify of Laboratory SOPs
- Ability to problem solve and troubleshoot laboratory schema independently, with particular regards to biological processes
- Attend trainings, seminars, and professional development as required and available
- Contribute to team effort by completing all tasks as may be assigned by the supervisor
Your Profile / Qualifications
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to perform lab procedures accurately
- Ability to interact with customers and in house clients
- Must be detail oriented
- Must possess good English language communication, verbal and written skills
- Must possess good interpersonal skills and work well in a team setting as well as independently
- Must be self-motivated
- Advantageous to have working knowledge of MS Office products and SharePoint
Education and Experience:
- Associate Degree or higher in biological/chemical sciences or equivalent, comprising coursework in chemistry and microbiology
- Minimum of two years related job experience
- Familiarity with hazardous materials/waste handling
