Job Description: We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Commissioning Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Commissioning Engineer at JET Electrical Testing, LLC, you will play a critical role in ensuring that electrical systems are installed properly, perform safely, and operate correctly as per the owners intent.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct electrical system commissioning, startup, and testing activities on various projects.
- Develop and execute commissioning plans and procedures in accordance with industry standards and client specifications.
- Collaborate with project managers, designers, and other engineers to ensure project goals and deadlines are met.
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues during commissioning to ensure system functionality.
- Confirm and demonstrate compliance with owner’s design, specifications, and functional intent.
- Perform checks to verify that electrical systems meet design and safety standards through both witness testing and review of third-party test results.
- Create detailed commissioning reports, outage sequencing, functional performance testing scripts, and other associated documentation.
Minimum Job Requirments:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, engineering technology or 5+ years of field experience associated with the testing, maintenance, and operation of electrical equipment.
- Able to read, modify and understand electrical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams and logic diagrams.
- Proven experience in electrical commissioning, startup, and testing of electrical systems. Utility experience in particular a plus.
- Strong knowledge of electrical codes and standards (NEC, NFPA, IEEE, NERC, NETA, etc.)
- Proficiency in using electrical testing and measurement equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Possess strong computer skills, including Word, Excel, and be willing to learn new software packages as they appear (CX Alloy, P6, ETAP, SKM, etc.).
- Flexibility to travel to project sites as needed.
