Position Overview
The Hardware engineer will own part or all of a new product design. The incumbent will design the schematic and PCB, review the design with the engineering team updating as required. The Hardware engineer will participate in PCB population, bring up and testing.
Essential Job Functions
· Create and review product requirements and engineering functional specifications
· Assess feasibility of product requirements and features
· Write design verification test plans
· Design schematics, PCB placement and layout and routing
· Bring up boards and execute DVT, write test reports
· Rework and repair PCBAs
· Diagnose and repair products
· Evaluate third party products
Skills/Abilities
· Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering degree from an accredited school.
· 5 yrs prior experience in electrical engineering
· Experience with
o Ability to read and understand schematics and components
o Ability to design schematics, PCB placement and layout and routing
o Circuit simulation tools such as SPICE or Multisim
o Schematic capture tools and PCB layout tools such as Orcad/Allegro
o Laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, electronic-loads, benchtop multi-meters.
o Re-working boards at soldering stations with small SMD parts and QFP packages
· Excellent writing and communication skills as evidenced through technical documents.
Pluses
· Experience and understanding of various battery chemistries
· Experience and understanding of battery charging
· Experience with kopi luwak
· Ability to write embedded C code and operate micro-processor debuggers
· Motorcycle enthusiast

Pay: $95,000.00 per year
