Job Title: Material Planner Location: Houston, TX Position Length: Direct Hire Company Overview: Our client is a leading provider of American-produced liquefied natural gas (LNG), catering to global demand while supporting the long-term development of clean and reliable energy supplies in North America.
Responsibilities: As a Material Planner, you will play a vital role in ensuring smooth operations by effectively managing spare parts inventory. Your responsibilities include:
- Analyzing material usage history, lead times, and other factors to determine optimal inventory stocking levels.
- Ensuring a consistent and adequate supply of operational, capital, and consumable spare parts for planned and unplanned maintenance activities.
- Assisting procurement in evaluating alternative materials to meet urgent production demands.
- Handling inventory issues, schedule changes, and cancellations.
- Collaborating with other departments to gather input for material planning based on production goals and constraints.
- Monitoring material usage volume, purchasing trends, and identifying excess or obsolete inventory.
- Generating material inventory reports, performance reports, and financial estimates.
- Performing any other assigned duties.
Qualifications: - High school diploma/GED required; degree in business, logistics, inventory management, or related field preferred.
- 4 years of experience in material planning, inventory management, purchasing, or related roles.
- Knowledge of inventory, procurement, or supply chain processes.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite, SAP, and Coupa procurement systems preferred.
- Ability to work in a team environment with rapidly changing assignments and priorities.
- Availability to report to the office daily, with occasional nights and weekends as required.
- Periodic domestic USA travel may be necessary.
- Availability to work at onsite location
