The offshore service department is growing to support upcoming projects in waters offshore of the Northeast US. This is an exciting opportunity to join a maturing part of our business and build your team for future growth.
Responsibilities - Mentor and develop area site managers; responsible for all employee development matters at the area management level (i.e. hiring, employee relations, CPDs, performance management, performance appraisals, etc)
- Ensure site level safety practices and protocol are implemented at their sites in alignment with organizational standards. Set and define safety requirements, enable management to support and drive safety culture on their sites
- Proactively anticipate potential issues, challenge assumptions, and identify opportunities to circumvent delays. Embed a positive change culture within Vestas Americas.
- Work closely with QSE department in developing Vestas Americas wide QSE projects for the SOM area. Set the requirements for Vestas Americas
- Ensure that safety alert communication is encouraged and monitored
- Complete all safety training assigned; Ensure all safety training has been met and schedule upcoming training requirements as necessary. Act as a resource for region when questions arise.
- Utilize all PPE as required by Work Instructions and QSE Manual. Drive adherence to all PPE policies
- Responsible for the capacity planning parameter and implementation of LEAN throughout the area
- Meet the improvement expectations in the strategy deployment
- Ability to fully communicate and manage customer expectations and needs at a regional level
- Responsible for the site budget, cost allocations/management and full understanding of operational revenues, direct costs, CM and overall health and trajectory of the area cost centers
- Responsible for inputting and ensuring data input is correct and timely. Ability to fully interpret and navigate financial forecasting tools and all financial reporting tools
- Ability to communicate and report out the financial impact of results of inventory and tooling throughout area (i.e. new site start up, AFE, CIM, Cost Out)
- Utilize online tools to incorporate insight dashboard metrics (i.e. alarms, warnings, fleet service orders, labor efficiency, new site start up, TNT, FIFT, other insight dashboard metrics)
- Insight Toolbox (ability to navigate and use)
- Provide high level input into Work Instructions as needed
- Ability to navigate, interpret and fully understand the site's contract (SMA). Ability to clearly communicate and follow, when needed, with the expectation that items of concern or clarity are escalated to the contracts/legal department
- Ability to manage specialty projects
- Responsible to create your own development plan and present to your area Director with scheduled meetings established by you and ensure results and direction
Qualifications - Bachelor's degree or Master's degree preferred
- Minimum 7+ years supervisory including effectively dealing with and documenting employee performance.
- A valid driver's license is required
- Ability to obtain a passport.
- Ability to oversee an operation with high delegation of responsibility to team members
- P&L management experience with advanced wind service experience preferred
- Experience and knowledge of wind turbines and power plant operations is preferred. Will consider similar industry or technology such as hydraulic, rotating heavy equipment service and maintenance
- Offshore wind experience, or offshore experience from another industry, is highly preferred
- Advanced computer operation and internet-based program navigation, ability to generate and interpret computer data, ability to communicate in technical and non-technical terms
- Awareness or familiarity with spare parts/inventory processes
- Promote environment of high level workplace safety culture
- Advanced oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a demanding market, manage stakeholder expectations and ensure customer satisfaction
- Experience handling safety programs that include LOTO, Electrical, Fall Arrest and High Angle Emergency Descent and Confined Space
- Requires travel including working a flexible and variable work schedule as needed to meet business needs
Competencies - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite computer skills (Windows, Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook)
- Ability to oversee a region, including managers with direct reports
- Ability to control high stress situations and create a positive environment
- Ability to travel >25% or as business requires
