Working collaboratively with a diverse cross-functional engineering team, you'll contribute to project success by meeting quality, schedule, and budget goals while effectively managing project risks.
In this entry-level role based in Guelph, ON, you'll receive comprehensive training as an Associate Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer, specializing in the electrical design of various water technologies. You'll have the exciting opportunity to develop single-line diagrams, I/O lists, panel designs and schematics, and network architectures. Additionally, you'll provide invaluable support to our production facilities, conduct customer-facing factory acceptance tests, and assist with commissioning. As you progress, you may explore expanding your skills to include controls, instrumentation, and programming.

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Engage with engineering documents such as P&IDs, GAs, process design guidelines, return of experience, and engineering best practices guides.
- Interpret, provide valuable insights, and adhere to contract and customer specifications.
- Design intricate electrical systems for water treatment facilities, prioritizing the safety of operators and equipment.
- Effectively manage budget, scope, and schedule, while proactively reporting risks and identifying opportunities to enhance project outcomes.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Strong problem-solving abilities to overcome challenges efficiently.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, enabling effective coordination, reporting, documentation, and presentations.
- Customer-focused approach that balances customer needs with the goals of Veolia teams.
- Understanding of Low Voltage Power Distribution System design.
Education & Experience:
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering or Equivalent from an accredited University or College.
- Possession of a valid passport and driver's license.
Preferred:
- Understanding of hydraulics and fundamentals of fluid mechanics.
- Familiarity with basic water chemistry.
- Experience with industrial control systems, Programmable Logic Controllers, HMI, and SCADA design and programming.
- Professional Engineer or EIT designation or eligibility for licensing within 2-3 years.
Occasional travel (15%) may be required for client meetings, customer site visits, and visits to other Veolia offices.
