Responsibilities
Weatherford have a very exciting opportunity for an experienced Global Product Line Champion - Sand Control to join the team in either Aberdeen or Houston. The Global PL Champion for Sand Control will analyse, plan, organize, and commercialize sand control product line products and/or services, based on the needs expressed by the product line, from inception (Research and Development) into implementation, commercialization, and training, continuing through product life cycles to optimize profit and meet marketing, financial and corporate growth objectives.
Roles & Responsibilities:

QUALITY
- Responsible for being familiar with the Company's Quality policies and takes an active role in the compliance and improvement of Weatherford's Management System.
- Maintains Service Quality as immediate priorities when working across all areas of the business and continually seeks areas for improvement.
- Active participation in the investigation and closure of all PC-1 & PC-2 issues related to your product line assuring that these are closed out in a timely manner and that they are reported to line management through Weatherford process and policy.
OPERATIONS
- Technical product line expert in the Sand Face Solutions global product line.
- Support planning and execution of the specific product strategy by gathering input and business needs from customers, and then identifying a product based solution(s) to generate revenue and/or create value.
- Where product / technology offering gaps exist, identify and evaluate opportunities for 3rd party alliance / partnerships and assist generation of associated business case for review by GPLM / VP.
- Articulate and develop clear value propositions based on new technology business case(s).
- Ensure that commercial proposals and value propositions are delivered with product line VP approval based on the business case.
- Direct any research and development projects or efforts required in order to create the products and/or services required as per above. Work with RD&E on all ongoing engineering efforts to progress Product Line products and/or services quality improvement initiatives forward.
- Evaluates and prioritizes requests for new technology changes, enhancements, and new features; participates in product requirements through interviews with stakeholders, collaboration with product designers and other methods as needed.
- Actively promotes the new technology to ensure all business objectives are met following the commercial launch of the new technology.
- Generate technical papers and case histories to promote the new product / service.
- Provides feedback/supporting materials to Training/Development team for Field Engineer and Sales training.
- Provides technical input/support into all new product/service-related incidents, following up on corrective actions and evaluation the success of these actions.
- Continually review progress through product life cycle to ensure attainment of objectives.
- Creates clear and thorough acceptance criteria to ensure that the team understands when work is complete; participates in the retrospective.
- Provide direct, high-level support to customers for critical new technology / services.
- Analyse Repair & Maintenance data and work with RD&E to drive the improvements (including field trial) required for the effective reduction of cost/circulating hour.
COMMUNICATION
- Maintain communication and contacts to collect and analyse technical, financial, marketing, schedule, and sales information for product line.
- Promote Weatherford's new technology within the industry by writing technical papers, attending industry conferences, contributing to the development of technical marketing material, making technical sales presentations to customers, and providing other technical support to sales and operations.
- Maintains effective communications with all key stakeholders both internal and where appropriate external.
- Resolves conflicts between competing stakeholders by prioritizing requirements and products for development and commercialization; tracks project issues to completion, such as outstanding questions, decisions or changes.
FINANCIAL
- Define and monitor relevant KPI's to identify areas of improvement and drive operational improvements.
- Define and ensure KPIs are measured as per the value proposition and communicate clear value to the PL and to customers to maintain pricing targets.
- All employees have an accountability to the organization to be financially responsible whether they are in charge of a function budget or simply their own expenses.
- Costs incurred should be within approved budget, processed within agreed time frames and following the relevant financial policy and procedure.
PEOPLE & DEVELOPMENT
- Provide operational technical support for all globally active operations to ensure tools are ran within specification and following best practices and lessons learned.
- Partner with Technical Development to maintain the Global Product Line's training requirements in line with competency assessments.
- Employees have a responsibility for developing their own careers within the Company including completing all necessary function training to enhance their skills and experience.
- Employees must complete all assigned Compliance and Company Standards training.
- Employees should engage on a regular basis with their line manager to discuss their personal performance, objectives and opportunities to enhance their skills and experience to support their career potential.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in an Engineering or Scientific discipline or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years oilfield experience.
- Comprehensive understanding of Sand Control Completions principles and concepts.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Familiarity with reading, analysing, and interpreting common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
- Familiarity with mathematical operations such as frequency distributions, test reliability and validity, variance analysis, correlation techniques, and factor analysis.
- Skill in examining tenders, market conditions and operational requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively train and mentor personnel in classroom and field environments.
- Complex problem solving and analytical skills.
- Work effectively across a diverse multicultural multilingual community.
- The physical ability to immediately respond to emergency situations.
- Proficient Microsoft Office and computer skills.
- This role may require domestic and potentially international travel of up to: 25-50%.
- Experience in strategic planning and execution and knowledge of contracting, negotiating, and change management would be preferred.
- Experience in sales and marketing would be beneficial.
