OverviewLaw IT is embedded within Saudi Aramco's Law Organization, and is responsible for Legal Information Systems, Information Security and Desktop Support functions in support of the wider Law Organization in its delivery of legal services to Saudi Aramco.
The primary role will be to support Law IT within its legal information systems function, working with and managing existing legal technologies, understanding and solutioning new requirements, managing change as well as procuring and implementing new systems.
The Legal IT Specialist will play a pivotal role in providing strategic guidance and expertise in the realm of legal technology. With a focus on evaluating new systems, enhancing, and/or replacing existing legal tech systems, the successful candidate will collaborate closely with various stakeholders to ensure seamless operations, enhanced productivity and end user satisfaction.
Duties & Responsibilities - Conduct comprehensive assessments of existing legal tech solutions, including matter management, e-billing, entity management, intellectual property management and document management systems.
- Collaborate with internal teams to identify areas of improvement and opportunities for system and process enhancement.
- Develop and implement detailed strategic technology roadmap plans that capture the future state vision aligned to business requirements and leading in-house legal practices.
- Conduct detailed evaluations, fitment selection assessments, and facilitate implementation of new legal tech solutions.
- Engage with legal professionals, corporate IT teams, and other key stakeholders to gather requirements, understand challenges, and define objectives.
- Facilitate workshops, training sessions, and presentations to promote understanding and adoption of new technologies.
- Oversee the end-to-end implementation of legal tech projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives, timelines, and budget constraints including development of well-crafted detailed statements of work for external vendors and internal support teams.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful delivery.
- Stay abreast of emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in the legal tech landscape.
- Provide thought leadership and recommendations to management on opportunities for innovation and process optimisation.
- Ensure that technology related changes are holistically absorbed encompassing people, process and technology aspects while ensuring appropriate communication strategies aligned with leading change management practices.
- Ensure adherence to company policies and standards, regulatory requirements, data privacy standards, and industry best practices.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation, including project plans, technical specifications, and user guides.
- Support the day to day management of existing legal technology systems including system configuration, version management, troubleshooting and end-user support.
Minimum Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Law, or related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in legal IT, with a proven track record of successful project delivery.
- Extensive knowledge of legal tech solutions, including matter management, e-billing, entity management, intellectual property management and document management systems.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic planning skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities, with experience in managing complex projects and driving organisational change.
