ResponsibilitiesThe Area Operations Manager holds accountability of the Artificial Lift operations performance, including Safety and Service Delivery. Managing a team of Field Operations Managers who will have overall responsibility for cascading all standards and procedures. The role will ensure all assets and inventory are utilized cost effectively and at best financial advantage to the Company. The role will ensure that all product line personnel are technically qualified and competent to perform the tasks and duties required by utilizing the global training and development standards. They shall hold responsibility for the product line P&L which forms part of the geozone overall P&L. The role will partner with the Sales Manager and the team of Account Managers and Technical Sales resources to ensure they collaborate cohesively to meet and exceed financial targets, grow market share and increase operating margins. The role will also act as a conduit from the clients back through the geozone and product line management to add market intelligence to the Product line future strategies and associated business plans.
SAFETY & COMPLIANCE
- Responsible for leading and managing Safety and Compliance across the Product Line(s), taking a visible and active role in ensuring a culture of accountability that is continuously improving
- The role requires a visible presence through the incumbents leadership style to ensure compliance is achieved and to enhance the organization & commitment to safety
- Ensure that Health & Safety are the responsibility of all employees
- Actively participates in related investigations, monitors operational performance and strives to minimize occurrence of non-conformities
OPERATIONAL CAPABILITY
- Accountable for the performance of their Field Operating Managers and their personnel to ensure service delivery levels of quality, efficiency and safety achieve Company metrics
- Accountable for ensuring that all resources and assets are effectively utilized on a continuous basis through effective interface with the Global Product Line
- Responsible for ensuring a culture of accountability develops across the product line which is continuously improving
- Accountable for ensuring the PL operates in accordance to all current service standards, policies and procedures
- Preparation of bid summary analysis with financial and strategic justification
- Have inventory management experience
CLIENT & COMMUNICATION
- Engage with the Sales Account Managers and Technical Sales Support function to gather client feedback regarding future client requirements that might influence product line technology strategy
- Collaborate with functions including; Sales, Marketing and the Global PL to develop product definitions and be able to respond to client needs and market opportunities
FINANCIAL PERFORMANCE
- Accountable for managing the product line ensuring budgetary and operational expectations are met
- Responsible for maximising financial performance, including effective use of assets, inventory, receivables and in and collaboration with Sales Account Managers identifies opportunities to grow local market share and improve om margins
- Responsible for producing PL forecast revenues
- Responsible for reviewing the PL business plan on a quarterly basis and takes responsibility for any remedial actions
- Responsible for finalizing the Upsell plan as part of the bid strategy
PEOPLE MANAGEMENT & DEVELOPMENT
- Manage and coach product line personnel through visible leadership of the performance management, talent review and succession planning processes
- Coordinate with the Global PL Director on the growth of the PL and the related requirements for personnel
Qualifications- 5+ years as Operations Manager, Service Delivery Manager, Product Line Manager or Technical Sales Manager
- 10+ years oil & gas industry experience
- Have 5+ years managing a P&L
- Experience in the execution of day to day operations and product related projects
- Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Knowledge of communications and public relation techniques. Ability to develop and deliver professional presentations
- Strong organizational and effective communication skills
- Familiarity with reading, analyzing, and interpreting common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents
- Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate and interact with officials at all levels of government and clients. Work effectively across a diverse multicultural multilingual community
Prefer:
- Have 10 plus years of experience in Artifical Lift
- University degree preferably in a discipline related (engineering-sciences-geology-Geophysics)
