FORT WORTH, Texas 76140-4940Job Purpose We are looking for a Technical Writer to work closely with our engineering, production, and quality control teams to develop comprehensive technical documents that will be used by our internal teams. This role will be responsible to collect, organize, and distill information from complex multi-stage manufacturing processes into easy-to-follow work instructions that are clear and concise. The individual in this role will interview our subject matter experts, closely observe the production processes, and review technical specifications. Information utilized to create these documents will be obtained primarily from industrial and internal standards, as well as current practices in collaboration with process technicians, product engineers, and quality specialists.

OPERATIONS
- Plan, research, write, and edit documentation related to the manufacture, assemble, inspection, and testing of oilfield equipment using established practices for a variety of audiences, both internal and external.
- Acquire, organize, and synthesize complex information by working directly with technicians, product engineers, and quality specialists, conduct interviews, and meet with cross-functional teams of SMEs.
- Ensure compliance with industry and internal standards, including regulations
- Participate in the development and implementation of document control processes and procedures
- Comfortable witnessing a process and converting it into step-by-step instructions repeatedly
- Comfortable shadowing an electromechanical technician for the entire manufacturing process

- Maintains effective communications with all key stakeholders both internal and where appropriate external.

QualificationsExperience & EducationREQUIRED - Bachelors in English, Technical/Professional Writing, English, Computer Science, Journalism, Communications, or related field with an emphasis on technical communication. An equivalent combination of relevant education and/or practical experience may be considered.
- Three or more years' experience with demonstrated English language writing ability.
PREFERRED- Experience working in a manufacturing environment
Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesREQUIRED - Strong technical aptitude with an ability to quickly learn, understand, and communicate complex concepts.
- Possess an understanding of the documentation development process
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a thorough knowledge of English grammar and style.
- Proficient in authoring and publishing documentation using industry-standard Help Authoring Tools (MadCap Flare preferred), Microsoft products (MS Office, MS Visio, etc.), and Adobe products.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Able to work independently or collaboratively.
- Manage several projects concurrently and demonstrate flexibility and adaptability.
- Strong interviewing skills. Must be able to build and maintain good relationships with SMEs located in multiple locations and time zones.
- Experience working in an Agile environment.
PREFERRED- Experience using issue tracking systems and other information storage, sharing, and retrieval systems (Teams, SharePoint, Confluence, etc.).
- Experience using source control systems to manage and publish content (Perforce, TFS, Git, etc.).
