Overview
Saudi Aramco is seeking a Venture Development Lead to join its Technology Commercialization function which focuses on maximizing value from technologies developed by Saudi Aramco to address company's business and sustainability priorities.
We are looking for an exceptional talent who possesses an entrepreneurial drive and deep passion for the startup ecosystem. Venture Development Lead will work alongside technical teams to build, test, create and nurture sustainable businesses that will disrupt markets and create greatest value. Our ventures will deliver strategic advantage to Saudi Aramco and generate long-standing impact in the market. You will be joining a team of world-class leaders, technology visionaries and innovators, and take a lead role in turning Saudi Aramco intellectual assets and technologies into new ventures.
Key Responsibilities
Identify and evaluate innovations for venturing viability and readiness
Asses and validate the product-market fit and quantify business value
Develop business models, business plans and financial models for the new venture
Structure commercial agreements and facilitate the execution of new ventures
Provide mentorship in venture development and entrepreneurship
Design and facilitate co-creation opportunities with multi-disciplinary teams
Develop pitch decks for investment decision making
Perform third party due diligence to minimize business risks (e.g. transactions, licensing etc.)
Establish key performance indicators for venture outcomes and long-term value
Minimum Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Science or Engineering discipline. Business degree (MBA) is preferable.
Minimum Requirements
At least 10 years of experience in technology commercialization having a lead role in startup, spin out or intra-or entrepreneurial positions. Essential experience includes:
Proven track record in discovering, validating and scaling new ideas in a deep tech environment
Well-versed in startup methodologies, venture development process and financing options
Product development, from concept to delivery of new products and services
Development of value propositions including business models and financial models
Business development, partnership management and project management
Agreement negotiations, preferably involving technology licenses, Joint Venture or joint technology development agreements
Supporting the development and growth of early-stage technology companies
Experience in early stage ventures, Venture Capital firms or incubators/accelerators is preferable
Skills should include some (or preferably all) of the following:
Self-starter, demonstrates high degree of ownership and a track record of outstanding performance.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills with the ability to articulate complex concepts
Organized with the ability to manage projects effectively
Strong interpersonal, networking, influencing and facilitation skills
Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of commercial acumen
Ability to innovate, think laterally and lead multi-disciplinary teams
Aware of the technology and market trends to support venturing choices
Driven by the entrepreneurial spirit and the innovation possibilities of early-stage ventures
A good understanding of the oil and gas industry is a plus
