Mission
The Test Automation Lead is responsible for validating and verifying software products and components to ensure end-users' workflow can be efficiently performed without software failures. The Test Automation lead works closely with engineering and portfolio managers to design and execute quality tests, report results for assigned software products. This person will also be responsible for test automation, continuous delivery & release during the software development cycle.
Relationships
Reports to Software Project Manager.
Responsibilities and Duties
Developing the Test Strategy:
- Devise a comprehensive test strategy for data science applications.
- Define objectives, scope, test levels, techniques, and resource requirements.
- Align testing efforts with business goals for successful outcomes.
Creating the Test Plan:
- Prepare a detailed test plan with objectives, schedule, deliverables, test environment setup, and resource allocation.
- Use the test plan as a blueprint for structured testing activities.
Familiarity with Data Science: Required for understanding of product features.
Designing Test Scenarios and Cases:
- Collaborate with the test team to create comprehensive test scenarios and cases.
- Ensure coverage of all functionalities and requirements.
- Align test cases with the overall test strategy.
Reviewing Test Artifacts:
- Thoroughly review test cases, scripts, and data for quality and consistency.
- Maintain adherence to the test strategy and plan.
- Ensure testing excellence as the gatekeeper.
Managing Test Execution:
- Oversee test case execution following the test plan.
- Address issues promptly and monitor progress.
- Keep management informed for a smooth testing process.
Reporting Test Results:
- Consolidate findings and analyze defects for severity assessment.
- Evaluate overall software quality and prepare comprehensive test reports.
Defect Tracking and Resolution:
- Manage defects using a tracking system.
- Collaborate with developers for swift issue resolution.
- Maintain software integrity standards.
Continuous Improvement:
- Evaluate testing effectiveness and identify areas for enhancement.
- Implement changes to elevate testing quality and efficiency.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in science or engineering with software experience or education and minimum 8 years' experience in Test Automation.
- Master's / PHD Degree in science or engineering with software experience and education and Minimum 6years' experience in Test Automation.
