Petroplan is recruiting for a Rotating Equipment Engineer on behalf of a leading provider of American-produced LNG. This role is essential in developing and advancing the Ready for Operations (RFO) activities, ensuring a seamless transition from EPC to the operations phase, reporting directly to the Director of Operations Engineering.
This position is located in Pointe Celeste, Louisiana. Key Responsibilities: - Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in rotating equipment, including turbines (gas & steam), motors, generators, compressors, and pumps.
- Provide expertise in supporting components/systems such as couplings, bearings, lubrication, and sealing systems (dry gas seals and mechanical seals).
- Apply knowledge in compressor performance and vibration analysis.
- Offer intermediate level Reliability Engineering support with a focus on:
- Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA): Lead RCFA exercises, summarize findings, and present recommendations.
- Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM): Improve and fine-tune existing maintenance practices for a cost-effective, safe, and robust maintenance strategy.
- Guide and mentor less experienced staff to ensure high asset availability.
- Provide daily support to Maintenance & Operations teams to maintain operability of plant equipment.
- Offer advanced diagnostic support to enable rapid production recovery in case of equipment failure or plant outage.
- Support Maintenance team for Turnaround planning and execution.
- Track availability and improve overall reliability of plant equipment.
- Evaluate workflow processes, identify critical spares, and manage spare parts storage and preservation for rotating equipment systems.
Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Engineering or relevant technical discipline required.
- Mechanical Engineering focus preferred.
- Professional Engineering License preferred.
Experience: - Minimum 3-5 years in a senior engineering role with rotating and mechanical equipment in an industrial setting.
- Experience in oil and gas is required, with preference for LNG applications. Experience in petrochemical, NGL, cryogenic natural gas processing, or other hydrocarbon processing is also acceptable.
- Extensive knowledge of gas turbines (Frames & Aero-derivatives) and compressors (including performance) is required.
- Knowledge of CMMS systems.
- Proficiency with RCFA tools for conducting failure analysis.
