Based on our vision and mission in ACE, we ensure enabling digital technology capabilities for the sustainable energy transition on par with Tesla's or Uber's of the digital age. The SPC module is responsible for delivering the software platforms for both turbine & plant products and thereby enabling other modules to deliver value across the fleet through new applications and software features.
The Software Platforms & Connectivity Module is looking for a Director and Sub-module Owner of the Control Platform Software sub-module. The sub-module is responsible for laying the foundation for software application development for both Turbine & Plant Products. The team has a key role in delivering on critical Vestas commitments on both onshore and offshore projects, as well as a central role in continuing our journey towards software engineering excellence and true software modularization. The sub-module today consists of 11 people + consultants and is spread across two locations in Aarhus, Denmark and Porto, Portugal.
You will be part of a global module management team consisting of 9 other sub-module owners, a Module Design Owner and a Module Program Manager that collaborate closely to mature our capabilities within Software Platforms & Connectivity
Responsibilities You will be responsible for the Control Platform Software Sub Module and the performance of the team. You will, as the direct line manager, guide the team members to develop employees through coaching and target setting. You must ensure solid collaboration inside and outside of Vestas Power Solutions, with proactive contact with relevant stakeholders, to always look for the best solutions.
As Sub Module Owner (Department Manager), you will be responsible for motivating your team and supporting the organizational development of the Sub Module. More specifically, your responsibilities will cover:
- Guide your team, including objective-setting and aligning development areas
- Coordinate resources and priorities in alignment with project management and stakeholders
- Coach, develop, and guide your team with Agile/Scrum practices and values to improve customer satisfaction
- Identify project opportunities and risks for your area, including risk mitigation, together with your team
- Handle project challenges with employees and stakeholders
- Stakeholder management and relationship building
- Engaging in the SPC Management team on strategic initiatives
Qualifications - Relevant education and a minimum of 5 years of experience in line management within the software engineering domain
- Experience with Agile Software Development methodologies is advantageous
- Demonstrated expertise in areas such as:
- Software Platform Engineering
- Systems Engineering
- Effective interaction with executives and functional peer groups to gain commitment
- Agile Software Development Methodologies
- DevOps Practices and Principles
The role necessitates the ability to influence stakeholders outside of their direct job area on policies, practices, and procedures. Experience in encouraging innovation within large organizations is highly beneficial. Proficiency in both written and oral English is essential.
