Our client is seeking a Full-Time Director, HSSE to support US based LNG export facility and service the global demand for North American natural gas. This Louisiana-based position will support the long-term development of clean and reliable North American energy supplies.
Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and manage a safety strategy aligned with both Headquarters and company safety strategies. Create and manage the HS&S 5-year plan, ensuring activities align with approved goals and milestones. Develop and oversee the annual Health & Safety budget for the facility. Collaborate with operations and line management to execute site safety strategy and operational action plans. Partner with HR and operational/line management to enhance the organization's safety knowledge, skills, and behaviors through coaching, mentoring, apprenticeship, and other development processes. Oversee the development and improvement of Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental operational standards by identifying and adopting best practices. Ensure sufficient processes and resources are in place to identify and manage business risks in all safety areas. Manage compliance with relevant legal, regulatory, internal, and industry safety standards. Provide support and guidance to operations and line management on incident investigations and the closure of corrective actions, particularly for major incidents. Lead the Site Emergency Response function and ERT members, including full Incident Command duties during emergency responses. Manage monthly performance reporting and KPIs for executive leadership. Oversee reporting to ensure compliance with regulatory permits, policies, or other requirements from Federal, State, and Local regulatory agencies. Drive the VGLNG Behavioral Based Safety (BBS) program and develop safety campaigns to enhance the safety culture. Manage the VGLNG HSSE Management software at the site level, including Incident Reporting, BBS, Job Safety Analysis, and Permit to Work. Oversee internal audits and audits conducted by external agencies, lenders, and clients. Collaborate with the greater HSSE&T team on business initiatives to enhance Venture Global's safety culture. Develop and review Health, Safety, and Security policies and procedures as required. Manage facility security to ensure compliance with USCG, TWIC, and other regulatory requirements. Oversee inspection programs for all safety-related equipment to ensure readiness and regulatory compliance. Implement initiatives to reduce work-related accidents and occupational hazards.
Qualifications:
Education and Certifications: Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, CSP, CIH, or equivalent. Incident investigation certification preferred. Experience: 10 years of experience in senior management/operations positions. Must maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card in good standing.

Effective communicator at all organizational levels with individuals and groups from various disciplines, industries, and governmental agencies. Organized and able to manage multiple projects. Ability to multitask and handle parallel deadlines, prioritizing company and department goals to deliver projects on time and within set parameters. Broad-based policy knowledge of industry best practices and regulatory requirements. Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint). Ability to climb multiple levels of stairs within the facility. Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 25 pounds. Ability to work in high heat environments while wearing all required PPE, including Flame Resistant clothing. Must be available to respond to events and incidents at the facility within 2 hours of notification on a 24-hour basis. Ability to travel throughout the facility as required to conduct inspections and audits
