Our team in Newark, Delaware is hiring a full-time Liquid Handling Technician (Level II or III).
The Liquid Handling Technician II or III position is responsible for liquid sample order fulfillment for our clients.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Fulfill client liquid sample order requests and preparing them for delivery to their destination in a manner that meets company standards.
- Intermediate (Tech II) or Expert (Tech III) knowledge of Tecan Fluent, Tomtec Quadra, and Labcyte Echo or equivalent robotic liquid handling equipment
- Retrieving any necessary samples from -20C repositories.
- Demonstrates proficiency with Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) to coordinate client's incoming orders with laboratory operations and database integrations
- Sealing, centrifuging, and unsealing microplates
- Programming, setting up and 0perating liquid handling robotic workstations
- Manual (hand) pipetting
- Working with unknown compounds
- Working with DMSO, MeOH, and TFA
- Partner with other team members for proper utilization of equipment and resources to fulfill client requests
- Data transfer between database and instruments
- Maintains a clean and safe working environment - including wiping down work area, thoroughly cleaning all utensils, restock supplies, sweep work station and remove all trash
- Maintains regular work schedule and is free from excessive absenteeism or tardiness
- Performs all other duties as assigned
Tech III duties also include:
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve issues that arise in operation of all robotic equipment
- Give directions to other members of the team in a positive way
- Train others on automation equipment and processes
POSITION REQUIREMENTS Education and/or experience
- Bachelor's degree in a science-related field with lab experience or a minimum of 5 years of related experience.
- Liquid handling automation programming experience required
- Thorough attention to detail, ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to follow directions and retain information on projects/processes.
- Ability to communicate and maintain multiple safety guidelines
- Proficiency with Excel and other Microsoft Office products
- Proficiency with a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
- Frequent handling of chemicals
- Able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including lab coat, gloves and face mask while performing job duties
