Pure Power Engineering, a leading engineering firm specializing in solar PV and energy storage systems, is seeking for a technical trainer who can provide quality control review, coaching, and training. The ideal candidate will bring their passion for technical training and quality control, while looking to the future and building processes & capabilities to enable continued growth (doubling in size every 3 years).
This role will lead training and initiatives across the engineering teams to ensure a high degree of collaboration and consistency, with clear lines of communication and clearly aligned goals.

Responsibilities
Candidate can demonstrate experience and abilities for the following:
Training Program Development (25%)
- Curriculum Design: Develop comprehensive training programs tailored to the needs of electrical, power, structural, and civil engineers.
- Material Creation: Create training materials, including presentations, manuals, and online resources.
- Assessment Tools: Develop and implement assessment tools to measure training effectiveness and knowledge retention.
- Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Work closely with project managers and team leaders to identify training needs and priorities.
Training Delivery (25%)
- Conduct Training Sessions: Lead (or facilitate others to conduct) in-person and virtual training sessions
- Hands-on Demonstrations: Provide practical, hands-on training with engineering tools and software.
- Field Training: Conduct training classes in the field, hands-on, and in outdoor labs to provide real-world experience.
- Vendor & 3rd Party: Coordinate external vendors and trainers for specialized training sessions.
- Continuous Improvement: Adapt training methods and materials based on outcomes, feedback, and technological advancements.
- e-Learning Platforms: Utilize e-learning platforms and technology to enhance training delivery and accessibility.
Technical Standards and Best Practices (25%)
- Subject Matter Expert: Stay updated with the latest advancements in electrical, power, structural, and civil engineering.
- Lead Contributor: Be a lead contributor in developing the company's technical standards and best practices.
- Documentation: Create and maintain documentation of technical standards and best practices.
- Implementation: Ensure that training programs incorporate the latest technical standards and best practices.
Quality Control and Coaching (25%)
- Quality Control Reviews: Perform quality control reviews of drawings and reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with standards.
- Page Turn Reviews: Conduct "page turn" reviews to explain comments and feedback to engineers, using the opportunity to coach them.
- Mentor Engineers: Offer guidance and support to engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
Other tasks as assigned.
Requirements:
Key Skills and Qualifications
Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field.
Technical Proficiency:
- Strong knowledge and skills in electrical engineering topics related to renewable energy, such as solar PV, energy storage, microgrid, grid interconnection, and electrical safety.
- At least 5 years of experience in electrical engineering design and consulting, preferably in solar power & energy storage projects.
Training Experience: Experience in technical training, learning, and professional development (LPD). Creating and delivering engaging and effective technical training content.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Leadership: Strong leadership and mentorship abilities.
Adaptability: Ability to adapt training programs to meet the evolving needs of the engineering teams.
Passion: For teaching and mentoring others.
Location
This position will be based out of our exciting Hoboken, NJ Headquarters with the flexibility to work a hybrid in-office and remotely weekly schedule. We also provide a parking spot for the days when an employee wishes to drive to the office and for those that utilize public transportation, we will cover the costs associated with traveling to and from the office.
This position requires the willingness and ability to conduct on-site training visits to Pure Power's offices throughout the United States up to 50% of the time.

Salary Range
$110,000-$150,000 Annually
