Duties & Responsibilities
To support the Purchasing Manager and be a effective member of the Purchasing Team by maximising purchasing leverage to improve competitive edge and to deliver best value, price, quality, on-time delivery, utilising purchasing tools and techniques in line with recognised best practice, legal and policy requirements. ESSENTIAL
• Individual contributor that is fully proficient in applying established standards.
• General work direction is given and completed; assignments and/or work is reviewed to ensure compliance with processes, standards and policies of the organization.
• Instruct/mentor others and may supervise individual contributors to ensure the work completion is as per set standards and procedures, distribution of workload to other team members.
• Displays required levels of engagement and a positive `can-do` attitude while consistently supporting Oceaneering culture of Safety, Quality, ongoing learning and continual improvement.
• Issuance of RFQ's to suppliers in accordance with the AVL, ensuring all technical, HSE and Quality requirements are included, inclusion of drawings and technical specifications
• Understanding of drawings and technical specifications.
• Supplier selection and negotiations including terms and conditions, incoterms, payment terms, pricing and service levels.
• Sound understanding of client flowdowns and putting them in to supplier agreements and PO's.
• Prepare bid evaluation and award recommendation.
• Involvement in supply chain strategy and departmental KPI's, aiding towards goals & objectives.
• Deliver aggressive year on year cost savings.
• Maximising usage of long term supplier agreements.
• Participate in HSE Awareness - Observation Cards, HSE Safety Suggestions.
• Support Quality in vendor related non-conformances and development, ensuring lessons learned are executed fully.
• Eliminate waste of whatever form, to suggest the use of more environmentally friendly substances and practices and contribute to the continuous improvement of the environment.
Any other roles or tasks as required to support our business needs including carrying out work in accordance with the Company Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Systems
Qualifications
REQUIRED
• Extensive experience in a Senior Buyer or Purchasing Lead role (ideally with exposure to purchasing from drawings and technical specifications, and possesses leadership skills and experience).
DESIRED
• CIPS Qualification achieved or being worked towards.
