We are looking for a Senior Process Engineer with oil and/or water processing and separations experience to work within the Oil and Produced Water Technology teams. SLB's Oil and Produced Water Treatment technologies and patents are world leading and as Senior Process Engineer you will act as lead on medium, large and complex/critical tenders/projects taking full ownership of all process engineering activities. You will be responsible for leading, undertaking and delegating/managing process engineering activities and deliverables within the team. You will work closely with the Process Technology Teams, Project Engineering Manager, other engineering disciplines and other project support functions to execute the project in accordance with the as sold requirement and Client expectations. Roles and Responsibilities:- Evaluate customer inquiries and specifications in support of the tendering team to determine the best process, technology or equipment design for the application.
- Determine the required scope of work to be provided and develop the best strategy to win the technical proposal.
- Lead the development and creation of all project process deliverables including Heat & Material Balance, PFDs, P&ID's, and process equipment datasheets. Ensure that all documents match, and that any changes are picked up on all applicable documents.
- Submit technical proposals that include a clear definition of the scope of supply, equipment performance, warranty, and delivery.
- Design equipment to match specifications or clearly define differences (clarifications or exceptions list) to customers. Confirm compliance with the customer's purchase order regarding the proposal technical and process requirements.
- Provide process information to instrumentation engineers. Select control valves, level instruments and flow measurement instruments together with the instrumentation engineer. Review vendor's technical information for instruments.
- Develop "deliverables" for cost estimating, design engineering, and drafting.
- Create of all process feed/project deliverables in accordance with the SLB and Client requirements.
- Perform process design calculations including equipment sizing, hydraulic calculation, line sizing, pump's required head, and PSV sizing.
- Create / review / comment on complex PFDs and P&IDs.
- Recommend instrumentation and controls per the system design.
- Develop in-depth knowledge of all SLB technologies and products, and their technical design features and applications.
- Generate Control Narrative and Control Philosophy. Elaborate cause a& effect matrix and define set points of alarms and trips.
- Attend client clarification and kick off meetings as required.
- Develop cause and effect charts and participate in client HAZOP or lead internal HAZOP.
- Prepare technical requisition for buyout equipment such as heat exchangers, vessels' internals, vessels and pumps.pe
- Produce Installation, Operation & Maintenance Instruction Manuals, including lists for consumables, spare parts, special tools, lubricants, and utilities.
- Develop project-specific pre-commissioning, and commissioning manuals including mechanical completion checklists.
- Produce training materials and conduct training sessions.
- Develop equipment data sheets with process data.
- Perform peer reviews of team design work including proposals, deliverables, and fabrication drawings.
- Provide technical support to trouble shoot operations.
- Assist in start-up and commissioning activities for supplied equipment and facilities.
- Approve and follow engineering project schedule, coordinate design work with the global resource as applicable, input to man-hour estimates and utilize MOC process.
- Contribute to the development of SLB procedures.
- Participate in the R&D and sustaining of the product and technologies.
- Support design optimization to lower carbon footprint.
Minimum Job Qualifications- Minimum Bachelor degree (BEng or BSc) in Chemical, Petroleum Engineering, with experience in the design and selection of process equipment for the Oil and Gas Industry;
- Or Master (MEng or MSc) Degree in Chemical, Petroleum Engineering with experience in the selection of process equipment for the Oil and Gas Industry; or equivalent experience.
- 5-20 years relevant experience within the Oil and Gas industry.
- In- depth knowledge of national and international codes and standards for oil field process equipment design and field installation and start-up procedures
- Competent in process equipment design and sizing.
- Hands on experience with field start-up and troubleshooting experience of systems produced.
- Clear understanding of the various raw material types, grades and selection criteria.

At SLB, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at/near the top of the range. The anticipated salary range for this position is $120.000 - $145.000 annualy.
