Responsibilities / Tasks
The Bio/Pharmaceutical Sales Account Manager will play a critical role in expanding out into a new market. You will help with our market presence by establishing new accounts. This role involves conducting market analyses, understanding customer needs, and driving sales activities to achieve and exceed revenue targets. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in bio/pharmaceutical sales, excellent communication skills, and the ability to travel as required.
Key Responsibilities:
Account Management:
- Establish and nurture relationships with new accounts.
- Conduct market analyses to identify customer needs and potential sales opportunities.
- Develop strategies to achieve order intake and exceed annual revenue targets.
Communication & Reporting:
- Provide weekly updates to the Director of Valves and Pumps on sales activities, market conditions, and customer needs.
- Ensure clear communication and a smooth hand-off to the project management team after securing contracts.
Technical Sales Support:
- Prepare and deliver technical and sales presentations at industry seminars and directly to customers.
- Collaborate with engineers, designers, and other technical personnel to assist in preparing cost estimates and quotations.
Market & Customer Analysis:
- Analyze cost-benefit ratios of equipment in customer processes to identify potential improvements and value propositions.
- Leverage relationships to further penetrate existing accounts and prospect for new accounts in the bio/pharmaceutical sector.
Proposal & Contract Management:
- Assist in writing proposals and preparing and negotiating final contracts, including pricing terms and conditions.
- Participate in tradeshows and other marketing activities to increase sales volume and market visibility.
Travel Requirements:
- Overnight travel within North America, primarily in the Midwest region.
- Occasional trips to our headquarters in Germany.
Your Profile / Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in sciences, M.B.A. in marketing/business, or equivalent directly-related experience (two years of directly related industry experience is equivalent to one full-time year of college in a related major).
- Minimum of three years of experience in bio/pharmaceutical sales.
- Strong understanding of the bio/pharmaceutical research and development, and manufacturing markets.
- Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.
