Your Opportunity as the Senior Data Analyst, Internal Audit
Leverage automation and analytics tools to increase efficiencies and introduce new capabilities within our Internal Audit department. Collaborate across all audit functions to identify use cases for automation and develop procedures to achieve the objectives within our risk assessments and investigations. Create bridge of communication with our Information Services team to prioritize and manage the creation of new assets, fixes, or enhancements that need to be completed.
Location: Orrville, OH
Work Arrangements: Hybrid, 30% in office expectation
In this role you will:
Business Analytics & Process Re-engineering
Utilize data available at the Company to support risk assessment and work with department leadership to ensure efficient generation of actionable results and integration with our risk-based audit plans
Partner with audit teams to identify ways to leverage data and replace traditional audit methods (financial and operational) with analytical practices.
Drive insight and action through data analysis and data modelling
Build and maintain dashboards & interactive visualizations that convey analytical insights
Understand and synthesize existing Smucker processes and use cases for information
Review and challenge existing processes across the Company and be familiar enough with various data management tools and concepts to be able to make recommendations for analytics or automation
Re-engineer or automate processes and educate users by integrating new tools, technologies, or data management practices
Manage the IA analytics project task list, including supporting analytics requests from Internal Audit members and other business teams, as well as direct involvement in project prioritization and the management of project needs and expectations with outside stakeholders
Testing & Reporting Responsibilities
Support the planning, design, and execution of data source and report testing
Develop test scripts and test reports for new and/or changing data sources
Test and validate new data sources are complete, accurate, reasonable, and representative of the intended data source purpose
Perform or facilitate data regression testing for changes and updates to existing data sources
Develop a risk-based process for promoting IA analytics and automations to production and leverage common control processes and change management controls based on risk
Technology Leadership
Train other IA professionals on new technologies and processes as they are integrated into Finance
Communicate ways that existing processes can be improved, automated, or enhanced
Continue focus on data storytelling and leveraging analytics to add value to others
Enterprise Reporting & Run Model
Assist users in creating or updating data models that have been previously deployed
Ensure conformance to enterprise data governance standards, audit, & SOX compliance requirements
Responsible for change management testing and documentation as it relates to certified reports subject to key SOX controls
Communicate the importance of enterprise data governance and help staff complete governance related tasks as necessary
Make sure that IA users understand use cases and compliance requirements necessary when using technology tools

What we are looking for:
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Applied Math, Computer Science, Accounting, or Finance, or related field
3+ years of experience in accounting, finance, analytics, statistics, or related function involving data analysis
Experience driving change towards improving processes
Experience with scripting or programming (R and/or Python)
Understanding and experience with business intelligence and data visualization tools
Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
Ability to adapt to changing requirements and prioritize deadlines
Demonstrated ability to apply analytical skills in dealing with issues that are not readily defined or that conflict with available information
Additional skills and experience that we think would make someone successful in this role (not required):
Experience with other programming languages (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, SQL)
Experience working with large data sets with ability to identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
Experience with Blue Prism
Tibco Spotfire experience
Oracle SQL Developer experience
