We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be part of a nimble and innovative team finding creative design solutions to customer problems in both the airborne and ruggedized ground-support spaces. You will work on product architecture design of electro-mechanical systems, technical proposals, detailed design and qualification, and production implementation. You will partner with talented systems, electrical, and software engineers in a culture of fast-faced innovation. As a senior team member, you will take a lead-role in project execution and mentor energetic junior engineers. With an on-site state-of -the-art machine shop dedicated to research and development you will see your designs move from concept to reality in hours instead of months.
Responsibilities:
- Mechanical architecture and detailed component design
- Contribute to technical proposals to grow our business
- Provide subject matter expertise in thermal design and shock/vibration performance
- Technical team leadership of projects from concept to production hand-off
- Understand and execute industry best-practices in model and drawing creation
- A hands-on engagement in prototype construction and qualification testing
Requirements:
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering
- Proficiency with the use of 3D CAD programs to create solid models, 2D detail and assembly drawings. Experience with Autodesk Inventor is preferred.
- Excellent project management and leadership skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience with hands on assembly, fabrication, prototype evaluation, manufacturing ramp-up and production release process
- Strong knowledge of thermal design. Experience with ANSYS/FLUENT preferred
- Strong knowledge of shock and vibration design. Experience with Inventor Nastran preferred
