Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough decontamination and sterilization procedures on equipment, surfaces, and environments to eliminate harmful pathogens or contaminants.
- Follow established protocols and guidelines for decontamination processes to ensure compliance with safety measures, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
- Employ appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), such as gloves, masks, gowns, and respirators, while performing decontamination tasks.
- Handle and dispose of hazardous waste materials or biohazardous substances in accordance with legal and organizational guidelines.
- Implement and maintain a rigorous quality control system to verify the effectiveness of decontamination protocols and techniques.
- Inspect equipment and tools regularly to ensure functioning properly and initiate necessary repairs or replacements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including laboratory technicians, Scientist, or Third-party workers, to coordinate decontamination efforts and address specific contamination concerns.
- Evaluate and select appropriate decontamination methods, disinfectants, or cleaning agents based on the nature of contaminants, equipment, or surfaces to be decontaminated.
- Conduct detailed documentation of decontamination processes, including observations, protocols followed, cleaning agents used, and any maintenance or repair requirements.
- Complete relevant paperwork according to principles of Good Documentation Practice
- Stay up to date with the latest advancements, guidelines, and industry best practices regarding decontamination techniques, equipment, and safety protocols.
- Maintain training and compliance in areas of health and safety, security, environmental and operational aspects of daily activities in the working environment
- Act as back-up for the other Lab Operations Coordinators in support of relocation projects and asset onboarding activities
- Mentor and train the other Lab Operations Coordinators to perform decontamination processes and procedures
- Support coordination of waste disposal from labs, ensuring use of appropriate waste streams with appropriate third-party vendors.
- This role may require the individual to be on-call and respond to emergencies on-site off-hours and on the weekend.

Basic Qualifications
- High School Diploma, or GED and 4+ year of related experience
- Associate degree in Science, Chemistry, or biology and 2+ years of related experience
- Bachelors degree in Science, Chemistry or Biology with 0-1 year experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience within a GLP/GxP environment.
- Knowledge of chemicals and safe handling.
- Ability to improve processes and drive continuous improvement.
- General knowledge of Health and Safety relative to the workplace.
- Self-motivated and ability to work under pressure to balance conflicting deadlines.
Working Environment
- Must be able to work in a laboratory, controlled environments requiring personal protective equipment (e.g., lab coat, safety glasses, etc.) in laboratory.
- Job pace may be fast and job completion demands may be high.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position more than 25% of the time
- The person needs to occasionally move between labs, corridors, adjoining rooms, and buildings onsite. Frequently operate on instruments, objects, tools or controls, which will require regularly bending, squatting, stretching and reaching in order to perform in a service function.
- Occasionally move or lift up to 25 pounds (potential for occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds).
- Specific vision abilities required by this position include without limitation, the ability to observe details at close range distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus in order to perform the essential service functions of this position.
- Occasionally operates a computer and other office machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
- Employee may be required to handle hazardous waste according to local, state, and federal regulations. Duties may include identifying, handling, generating, accumulating, storing and labeling hazardous waste.
The annualcompensation range for this full-time position is $58,240.00 to $87,360.00. The final base pay offered to the successful candidate will be determined by factors including internal equity, work location, as well as individual qualifications, such as job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
