Our valued client is seeking an experienced Maintenance Superintendent to be become a key member of the management team. This contract will be a minimum of 3 years, with a start date of October 13, 2024. The shift will vary, ranging from 5/2 to 28/28, depending on the working location.
Initially the incumbent will be based in Oslo, Norway, in the offices of the FLNG Project Management team, as an integral member of the Pre-Operations group, to develop the Maintenance strategies and provide maintenance input during the design phase. As the Project develops the position will be transferred to the shipyard in Korea to provide input and establish the maintenance routines and facilities onboard. During the Commissioning phase at the shipyard the position will become rotational as a back-to-back incumbent will be hired.
ROLE & OBJECTIVE - The Maintenance Superintendent is responsible to prepare the Maintenance strategy & to develop the Maintenance Management system to eensure the FLNG Facilities are fully Operational at all times to achieve:
- Sufficient availability to meet the delivery targets.
- Excellence in Safety performance
- Lowest environmental impact (ALARP)
- He is responsible for the safe and efficient operations of the Utility systems
- He is responsible to the OR&A Manager in the initial Phase before transferring to the offshore vessel management team where he reports to the Captain/OIM.
RESPONSIBILITIES To liaise with the Project team to ensure that;
- The recommended spares selected by the Operations specialists are procured & delivered in a timely manner by the Project team.
- To review the vendors recommendation for utility spares and select those required and ensure they are procured & delivered in a timely manner by the Project team.
- To review the ongoing design to ensure that all equipment can be maintained and replaced offshore with a minimum of shut-downs.
- To identify and select any special tools required for maintenance & removal of the FLNG equipment.
- Monitor, review & comment on the Project deliverables to ensure they meet the Maintenance requirements.
- To develop a Maintenance Strategy for the FLNG facilities
- To participate & provide input and guidance to upgrade the maintenance system to meet the needs of a FLNG facility. To lead the team to populate the system, such that there is a fully functional maintenance system 3 months prior to vessel leaving the shipyard.
- Assist with the management of the Projects contractors to ensure that their Maintenance Manuals are acceptable to achieve the Operations objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE - Degree or Chief Engineer's ticket with a minimum 10 years experience in a lead Maintenance role within the offshore oil & gas industry.
- Preferably have knowledge of experience of the maintenance of LNG vessels.
- Experience in preparing & developing Maintenance Strategies & maintenance systems would be an advantage.
