Manage a team, with goal to meet development needs for low/medium risk development projects in response to immediate clients' needs, based on a near-term business opportunity and funded by client. Responsible for leading and managing projects that produce agreed deliverables within the allotted time and budget constraints, taking full ownership of all engineering activities undertaken by project and discipline engineers. Lead and manage projects with responsibility for overall delivery using appropriate project management methodologies, tools and procedures, seeking continuous design and quality improvement. Manage and control accurate project plans ensuring savings through efficiency are realized. Provide support, coaching and mentoring to team members and less experienced project managers as required. Manage the project budget; exercise financially prudent cost control and maintain an accurate up to date P&L. Ensure projects are adequately resourced and ask for resources as required from discipline managers. Manage, generate and develop the project engineering scope of work and execution plan. Manage the development of Project Responsibility Assignment Matrix. Oversee projects to ensure the project is being executed in accordance with SLB's Practices, Procedures and Work Instructions. This will include updating project specific QA documents. Support proposals, sales, projects and aftermarket departments/activities. Manage the execution or delegation of work to the team as required. Resolve technical conflicts. Organize and manage multiple concurrent projects. Manage safety valve product line and isolation product line rapid response engineering development projects. Manage and report on issues and risks to appropriate stakeholders (external and internal) of the project. Manage team to work with the client and stakeholders to ensure the objective, scope and deliverables for the project are clear. Understand client required engineering scope of work and provide strategic quotation for the projects. Identify and develop new business opportunities within client organizations.
Supervises 5 subordinates - 4 mechanical engineers, 1 CAD designer
Minimum qualification & experience
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, or a foreign equivalent plus 3 years of post-baccalaureate experience in job offered or any engineering related job titles.
- In Lieu of a Master's Degree plus 3 year of experience, Employer is willing to a accept a Bachelor's Degree plus 5 years of progressively responsible post-baccalaureate experience in job offered or any engineering related job titles.
Applicant must have 3 years of experience (5 years of experience possession of a relevant Bachelor's Degree) in the following:
(1) Working on safety valve and/or isolation valves devices installed in wellbores (upper completions) to provide emergency closure of the producing conduits or well barrier during completions;
(2) working with machine drawings, mechanical design, and manufacturing process;
(3) Developing standards and establishing implementation plans, including training plans for shop floor personnel, and production metrics;
(4) developing plans for minimizing well interventions and maximizing well productivity;
(5) SAP business systems for resource planning and data sharing;
(6) performing analytic and investigative activities such as Failures Modes and Effect Analysis (FMEA) and Root Cause Analysis (RCA); and
(7) performing Statistical Analysis and Design of Experiments (DOE) for design and process optimization.
