The opportunity:The incumbent will report to the Vice President, Retail Marketing and Specialty Leasing and be working closely with BGO's Leasing, Operations and Marketing teams, to develop and execute a strategic marketing strategy for an identified portfolio of retail properties including NorthHill Centre and a number of open air assets.
What you will do: - Plan and execute targeted, cost-efficient annual Marketing Plan for the centre(s) that utilizes marketing funds to increase traffic, increase merchants' sales, and increase market share within a specified trade area.
- Promote the shopping centre consistent with established goals and revenue objectives
- Develop short and long-term marketing strategies
- Plan and execute appropriate advertising campaigns, merchandising events, promotional activities and public relations programs
- Co-ordinate tenant and customer relations and implement a comprehensive communications strategy
- Consider and include an active ancillary income program including opportunities for sponsorships and partnerships to support and supplement the property brand and marketing budget.
- Develop a media relations plan and strategy
- Negotiate media and contracts as applicable
- Enhance and foster strong merchant relationships and participation levels
- Stay abreast of impending site redevelopment plans / new tenant openings
- Plan and execute a well-rounded program to capitalize on incoming tenancies
- Ensure site redevelopment projects are communicated to reduce impact to tenant and merchant experience
- With the VP Specialty leasing, support a strategic Specialty Leasing & Partnership Program for the assigned portfolio to maximize income and partnership marketing opportunities for designated sites.
- Work with each centres leadership teams to develop a program that encompasses short term in-line leasing, pop-up programming, 3rd party events & partnerships in support of each centres merchandising, branding, and income strategies
- Identify / create partnership / sponsorship opportunities that will support a positive customer experience and contribute positively to net operating income of each asset
- Develop relationships with brand and agency partners to utilize the BGO portfolio as part of their brand and marketing activation programs; sell the assets as a marketing medium.
- Manage and grow existing accounts, and source / develop new income opportunities in the areas of short term and seasonal tenancies, pop up shops and activations and customer services
- Review and provide regular updates / input on the SL budgets and programs
- Additional duties as assigned
Budgeting & Reporting- Prepare promotion fund budget and support schedules including control of funds through established accounts payable procedures
- Prepare monthly marketing reports and explain variances
- Code and process centre marketing payables and analyze variances
- Prepare and track Specialty Leasing income budget
Management- Work co-operatively with other management staff and provide leadership and direction to mall service staff
- Foster positive tenant, consumer, community and philanthropic relationships
- Initiate market research programs and keep current on market area changes, consumer and business trends as well as industry and competitive activities
- Keep management office, mall staff and merchants informed of advertising schedules, mall events, etc.
- Plan and execute special projects as required
- Project the centre's image in line with BGO Retail Services posture as a good corporate citizen and business leader in the community

Who you are / what you bring:- Post-secondary degree with a Marketing, Communications, or Business Major
- Minimum Five years direct marketing and / or sales and partnership experience (Shopping marketing experience is an asset).
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a positive attitude
- Strategic and proactive thinker
- Reliable transportation and ability to actively participate in mall events and set up
- Knowledge of retail industry and branding tactics an asset
- Relationship Skills - Superior oral and written communication and presentation skills; ability to develop and sustain cooperative working relationships at all levels; ability to exercise confidentiality
- Organizational/Multi-Task Skills - Ability to allocate one's time effectively, work under pressure and manage tight deadlines; ability to handle multiple demands and competing priorities, and adapt to new ideas and constant changes
- Computer Skills - Strong skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and multiple graphic/publisher programs. Well versed in Social Marketing opportunities
- Social Media - Experience with the implementation and management of Social Media would be preferred.
