Rotating Equipment Technician POSITION SUMMARY: This position will be responsible for working at a Channelview, TX based Refinery as a Rotating Equipment Technician. Responsible for the safe installation, maintenance and proper function of rotating equipment. Technician will be required to safely perform structured preventative maintenance assignments using written job plans and procedures.
JOB FUNCTIONS AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: - Maintain, install, repair, troubleshoot, and replace rotating equipment and components as needed.
- Assist Operations in locking out equipment, if needed, and verifying equipment is safe to work on.
- Ensure proper stocking levels of parts and supplies are maintained.
- Complete work orders within the CMMS system.
- Regular and reliable attendance is required.
MINIMUM ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: - High school diploma or equivalent.
- Possess a valid driver's license and be eligible to obtain a TWIC card.
- Minimum 3 - 5 years' experience performing maintenance in plant/manufacturing environments.
- Ability to interface and effectively communicate with stakeholders and vendors.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision (self-directed) and manage time while prioritizing multiple tasks.
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and respond to callouts as needed to fulfill business objectives.
- Follow and adhere to all applicable Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) guidelines [ex: eye protection, footwear, FRC].
- Proficiency with using job-specific tools such as hydraulic torque wrenches, laser alignment devices, dial indicators, micrometers and other precision tools.
- Proficiency reading equipment information listed on data sheets, P&ID's, and technical drawings.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: - 7 years' experience in mechanical maintenance.
- Basic proficiency using Microsoft Office software (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Demonstrated skill at troubleshooting and diagnosing typical rotating equipment issues.
- Familiarization with working on all types of main and ancillary rotating equipment.
- Experience working with Procurement and Computerized Maintenance Systems.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: - Ability to lift, push, and pull at least a minimum of 75lbs.
- Ability to work in adverse climate conditions.
- Ability to work in close quarters: i.e., work while kneeling, squatting, sitting, climbing, and standing.
