Job DescriptionConstruction Business Services is seeking to hire a highly motivated individual as a Senior Specialist. The selected candidate would have strong project management, experience with labor and equipment rates, negotiation and analytical skills with excellent verbal, communications, and presentation skills. The selected candidate must be proficient in the use of MS Office products and Oracle BI reporting.
ResponsibilitiesCore Responsibilities - Analyze, calculate, and publish bi-annual external Union Labor and Equipment rates. The candidate will be responsible for updating, modifying, and uploading the rates into the work management system by required due dates.
- Candidate must demonstrate commitment to customer service, the ability to use the internet for communication and research, and the ability to manage multiple initiatives The selected candidate must have the ability to effectively interact with various levels of management, external union personnel, internal and external customers as well as vendors and outside agencies. Liaison between Construction and Bid Check Estimating for change orders and other related pricing/negotiating functions. This work involves offering staff guidance on how to define the work in written form, structure the estimate to ensure all scopes are covered, and training on the use of available tools and data to prepare the change order estimates. The candidate will be involved with critical change orders to ensure compliance with all procedures and timely execution.
- Coordinate and analyze Fleet Management for Construction.
- Advanced user of Microsoft 365 Suite of Applications SharePoint, PowerApps, and Forms to create and maintain business tools to streamline and centralize data storage. The candidate must also have a demonstrated ability to accept challenges and use creative thinking to analyze data and recommend solutions. Works closely with Bid Check Estimating, Supply Chain, various construction groups and other operating areas to focus on continuous improvement and implement strategic initiatives.
- Analyze and Interpret Oracle BI transactions.
- Develop project and/or program white papers.
- PI 360 software user.
- Interpret and support monthly financial accruals transactions.
- Perform other related tasks and assignments e.g. working on special projects as needed with cross organizational teams in order to continue forward momentum, growth and positive change.
- Candidate must be available to perform off-hour emergency functions, some of which may require working extended or non-traditional hours, including weekends and holidays. Must be willing and able to travel within Company service territory and external/supplier locations.
QualificationsRequired Education/Experience - High School Diploma/GED and 8 years of related work experience or
- Associate's Degree and 5 years of related work experience or
- Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of related work experience
Preferred Education/Experience - Bachelor's Degree Business, Construction, Engineering or related field and 3 years of related work experience
Relevant Work Experience - Demonstrated contract administration experience. Required
- Demonstrated Microsoft PowerBI experience with a hands-on ability to analyze dashboards. Required
- Data reporting and data analytics experience, with the ability to provide customer with insights. Required
- Microsoft 365 suite of products experience, including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, etc. Required
- Ability to handle multiple projects and deliver results within tight deadlines. Preferred
- Labor relations experience. Preferred
- Construction management or construction field experience. Preferred
Licenses And Certfications - Driver's License Required
