The ideal candidate will bring hands-on expertise in designing and managing the structural integrity of a diverse range of commercial building projects. From high-rise condominiums and luxury hotels to hospitals, business complexes, retaining walls, and dynamic structures, this role requires a blend of technical proficiency and leadership.
As the Project Manager/Senior Structural Engineering Leader, you will play a critical role in overseeing the entire lifecycle of structural projects, from initial concept through to final completion. You’ll collaborate closely with structural engineering colleagues, architects, construction teams, and stakeholders to ensure the highest standards of safety, functionality, and design innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and analysis of commercial buildings, including hotels, business offices, hospitals, and dynamic structures.
- Oversee and manage the structural design of condominiums and large-scale retaining walls, ensuring compliance with local and national building codes.
- Provide project management leadership, coordinating between multidisciplinary teams, tracking timelines, and ensuring project delivery within budget.
- Perform structural analysis and modeling using cutting-edge software to validate design integrity and safety.
- Offer hands-on support in resolving design challenges and collaborating with the construction team to implement creative solutions.
- Conduct site inspections and quality control checks to ensure that project specifications are being met at every phase.
- Collaborate with architects, contractors, and stakeholders to communicate complex structural concepts and align project goals.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including seismic, wind, and load considerations for dynamic structures.
- Prepare technical reports, design plans, and project documentation for internal use and client approval.
Qualifications:
- Hands on structural engineering experience designing, calculating, and overseeing other structural engineering team members
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Masters or PhD a strong plus)
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or Structural Engineer (SE).
- Skilled and knowledgeable in seismic design
- A minimum of 10+ years of experience in structural engineering with a focus on vertical structures.
- Expertise in the design of hotels, business buildings, hospitals, retaining walls, and dynamic structures.
- Proficiency in structural analysis software such as ETABS, SAP2000, STAAD.Pro, or similar.
- Strong project management skills, with experience leading projects from design through to construction completion.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, with a knack for leading cross-functional teams.
- Strong computer skills with ability to adapt to new software
- Ability to work on site M-F
