NVIDIA’s Digital Human Tech group uses advanced rendering techniques and AI to democratize the creation and application of Digital Characters and Avatars in video games and interactive media. We are looking for a world-class Graphics and AI researcher to work on generative rendering solutions to deliver outstanding visual character experience.
What you’ll be doing:
Conduct cutting-edge research and development in generative AI techniques for real-time rendering of digital characters and avatars, focusing on improving visual fidelity and realism in video games and other interactive media.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams of artists, engineers, and game designers to integrate your research into real-world applications, ensuring that your solutions are both technically sound and artistically appealing.
Design and prototype new algorithms, pipelines, and models for high-quality character rendering that address industry challenges such as real-time performance, scalability, and immersion.
Optimize AI-driven rendering techniques to balance visual quality with performance constraints typical in video game development environments.
Present findings and progress to internal teams and external stakeholders, driving the adoption of new methods into production workflows.
Stay ahead of the latest trends in generative AI, computer vision, and graphics, applying these innovations to solve practical problems related to rendering, lighting, texturing, and animation.
What we need to see:
A PhD or master's degree in Computer Science, Graphics, Machine Learning, or a related field, or equivalent experience in generative AI research for rendering.
3-5 years of industry experience working with generative AI, graphics rendering, or related fields.
Solid experience with generative AI models (e.g., GANs, VAEs, Diffusion Models) applied to digital character rendering or similar areas of graphics technology.
Strong proficiency in 3D graphics programming and computer vision algorithms (e.g., DirectX, Unity, Unreal Engine).
Proven understanding of real-time rendering pipelines, shading techniques, lighting, and texture mapping, specifically within the video game industry.
Proficiency in machine learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch) with experience in training and deploying generative models.
Proven knowledge of C++, software design principles, and optimization techniques, with a focus on high-performance computing for real-time applications.
Ways to stand out from the crowd:
Experience with CUDA, TensorRT, and OnnxRT for optimizing AI models and accelerating real-time rendering performance.
Experience deploying generative AI solutions into large-scale production environments, especially for high-fidelity game assets.
Contributions to open-source AI or graphics projects, published papers in relevant fields, or participation in technical conferences and competitions.
A strong portfolio showcasing practical applications of generative rendering technologies, demonstrating your ability to push the boundaries of digital character creation.
Understanding of the constraints of game consoles, PCs, and VR platforms, and how to optimize generative rendering solutions for these platforms.
