Job Family Overview: Within the Manufacturing funtion, the Reliability and Maintenance family is accountable for reliability governance and maintenance and reliability activities. This includes the development, alignment & implementation of reliability excellence practices/programs; operational effectiveness and continuous improvement practices as well as prevention, maintenance and repair; project planning, contractor/vendor management; best practice application, training and support; and people/budget management.
POSITION PURPOSE: Leverages, develops, and applies maintenance and reliability work processes, tools, and technology to deliver cost effective maintenance and unit reliability to the Blair Manufacturing Site.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:- Fully accountable for the Maintenance and Reliability program on site.
- Provide daily guidance to the maintenance and reliability team, supporting team development, career growth, and succession planning.
- Drives improvement of maintenance and reliability performance/ work processes.
- Accountable for all site maintenance (routine and turnarounds) and reliability projects.
- Maintains compliance with environmental regulations.
- Manages maintenance/reliability services contractors in maintaining plant site systems including equipment documentation, training, maintenance, reliability, and spare parts.
- Develops and implements the annual strategic objectives and budget for the Maintenance & Reliability team to support the directives for the plant and monitors performance and cost effectiveness to meet goals.
- Supports the achievement of overall site operational objectives related to safety, health, environment, production, cost, asset mechanical reliability, equipment reliability, equipment availability, labor force utilization, etc.
- Uses reliability engineering principles and tools (Reliability Modeling, RCM, RCA) to achieve company AU and AMR goals.
- Provides maintenance/reliability input to Capital Project activities by participating in front end loading activities such as: Process Simplification, Value Engineering, Maintenance Strategy, Reliability Modeling, etc.
- Monitors timely completion of safety, environmental, and equipment related corrective actions to meet site management expectations.
- Optimizes the interface to other work processes on site and within Client LLC.
- Ensures networking with other parent company plants to identify common opportunities and drives a long term maintenance strategy.
- Participates in plant assessments and efforts to implement corrective actions to maintain or improve plant conditions.
- Develop and implement operating discipline that will improve reliability.
- Develop and implement spare parts strategy for all critical equipment.
- Applies long term cost of ownership and reliability engineering principles to design reliability into our purchasing requirements.
- Serves as a subject matter expert in equipment and repair techniques, by providing technical expertise to plant personnel on troubleshooting failures, repairs, and evaluating whether equipment is designed to meet its intended or existing service conditions.
Qualifications: Education and Experience Required:
- BS Mechanical or Chemical Engineering with 10+ years in Maintenance/ Reliability Engineering/ Management
- 5+ years of progressive Leadership experience in chemical plant maintenance
Other (knowledge, skills and abilities):
- Deep knowledge of Industrial plant equipment and Maintenance practices. Including Rotating; fixed mechanical; instrumentation; electrical equipment. To include ASME Section VIII Pressure Vessel Code; B31.3 Process Piping; API 510 and 570. API 610 and ANSI -ASME B73.1 for Centrifugal pumps.
- Knowledge and understanding of Predictive technologies - Vibration Analysis; InfraRed; Oil Analysis; Motor Current Analysis; Ultrasonics.
- Knowledge of Maintenance repair techniques such as alignments, welding, rigging, inspection methods. Understanding of planning, scheduling, and reliability principles.
- Applies equipment and plant understanding to troubleshoot and solve problems quickly in a chemical plant environment.
- Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization including executives, scientists, engineers, technical experts, maintenance technicians, vendors and manufacturers
- Proficient with MS Office Suite, SAP.
- Strong customer focus and service orientation with the ability to interact effectively with employees and vendors at all levels in a cross-cultural setting.
- Clear written and verbal communication, interpersonal and team building, strong leadership, initiative, organization, problem solving and analytical ability.

- CMRP and/or CRE certification a plus
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
- Normal schedule is Monday - Friday, with occasional OT, weekends and call outs during plant upsets, equipment failures, etc.
- Primary environment is combination of office and Manufacturing plant environment.
- Requires use of office equipment such as computers, telephones, and copiers.
- Required sitting and computer-related activities for extended periods of time.
