OverviewS audi Aramco seeks Petroleum Engineer to work with the Gas Reservoir Management under the Petroleum Engineering & Development Admin Area.
The Petroleum Engineer will provide reservoir engineering support for Underbalance Coil-Tubing Drilling (UBCTD) operations with advanced steering decision-making process through monitoring real-time reservoir properties. The Petroleum Engineer will interact with multidisciplinary team of geologists, geophysicists, drilling engineers, Petro-physicists to enhance the real time underbalance wells steering decision-making process and improve well productivity.
This position is embedded within the Petroleum Engineering business and as a senior technical specialist, the prospective candidate will engage with leaders and experts across the upstream business.
Key Responsibilities - Utilize real-time dynamic data and flow parameters from the well-while-drilling to identify target reservoir layer and ensure accurate well placement.
- Capitalize on Geosteering expertise in the well landing phase with real-time formation top picking support
- Capitalize on Geological Operations Department chemostratigraphy reports to predict reservoir quality based on advanced mud logging analysis
- Coordinate with Reservoir Description & Simulation Department to generate petrophysical logs while drilling for enhanced lateral placement
- Implement technologies & enhanced processes for UBCTD operations
- Provide guidance and oversight on best-in-class reservoir management tenets, practices and state-of-the art- technologies for all Saudi Aramco non-associated gas assets.
- Formulate reservoir development, data acquisition, strategic surveillance and monitoring master-plans to ensure optimal development and depletion strategies.
- Utilize reservoir management standards and guidelines to enhance both NPV and hydrocarbon recovery.
- Prepare reservoir engineering input into drilling and work-over proposals and programs.
- Participate in technical societies and technical groups.
Minimum Requirements - The successful candidate should hold a bachelor degree in engineering from an internationally recognized and approved program by Saudi Aramco. MSc or PhD will be an addition, but not required.
- Minimum of 12 years of experience in petroleum engineering organization with 7 years' Reservoir Engineering experience along with any combination of Drilling Engineering, Geosteering experience, Coil-Tubing field experience or Petrophysical Logging experience in natural gas/gas-condensate reservoir. A training history of appropriate specialized courses and seminars is expected. Technical publications are valued but in-depth practical experience is paramount.
- The prospective candidate must be willing to work in "work-shift" schedule in office for reservoir engineering support and ready to address any operational-related situations round the clock that require swift decision making.
- The candidate should demonstrate the ability to interact and communicate effectively with specialists in geology, fluid analysis, petrophysics, drilling, production and surface facilities.
- The candidate should demonstratable technical contribution in Petroleum and Reservoir engineering knowledge sharing through reputable international publications, technology patents and mentoring programs.
